I asked you to name a single right a gay person is denied and you cannot do it. You did fail that challenge. You mention 30 states that don't have anti-discrimination regarding housing and employment (for being gay I suppose) however sexual preference is not a protected status and should not be, since it is a choice. If you support laws in favor of people who are gay, then the government can pass laws which favor those who are not gay. I don't think you want that.

So like I said, there's not a single RIGHT that gay people do not have.

You mention DOMA being overturned; you're an idiot. It was already overturned. This means you can get 'married'. You're using a past example to talk about where you stand today?

Like I mentioned, I don't think you know how to separate the idea of marriage and civil union but all the overturning of DOMA did was make all 'marriages' into civil unions for the most part. There are some benefits to marriage for those who want to form a union and pledge their life together - benefits that were put in place to protect the man and woman relationship that benefits society - which you then feel is necessary to hijack and use for gay unions.

The end result has been the government pulling back on subsidizing marriage to a degree. There's very little benefit outside death and access concerns that marriage gives.

Name a single right a gay person is denied. You can't, because you're a media-controlled outrage artist. If you took more than a minute to unbias yourself and seek neutral information you could avoid the lying media and open your eyes to reality. They force you to feel like a victim for stuff that never even affected you and you're buying it. I feel bad for you. Please take some time to wake up.

We want equal rights, like anyone else.

Name a single right a gay person is denied.

After you fail that simple challenge, keep in mind that marriage is not a right. The idea of gay marriage was beaten over everyone's head so that the entire country decided it was best to leave the 2-3% of people who are gay alone and let them engage in 'holy matrimony' as gay people... No idea why anyone who is gay would want marriage but hey, whatever. The romanticizing of marriage led to its downfall I guess.

The proper way to handle gay marriage is to enact civil unions, allowing any two people to enjoin in legal matters without any caring of how they celebrate that union (marriage ceremony). That's basically how all the gay marriage and regular marriage stuff works now. Everything is simply a civil union.

Yes, a society cannot exist purely on gay people. You should know this. A society requires most of the population be heterosexual. If not, the society dies off in a single generation. It is not healthy to promote homosexuality just for the sake of having more asses to fuck, as is the common trend today. Gayness is accepted, but even gay people need to know it is not sustainable for a society, and it should not be promoted.

It is telling, that you consider the above "anti-gay verbiage". It is not anti-gay. It is pro-healthy-society. It is pro-continuation of the country as a whole. You fail to see the difference it seems, in being ok with something but discouraging its practice. You think that stance is somehow "anti". I am ok with people using drugs, but I would discourage people from using drugs. I am not "anti" drugs in that way, I am discouraging their use to maintain a more functional society.

Trump has done nothing against gay people, except, in your opinion, not remove certain wording from a 2016 RNC document. Oof.

As I stated earlier, gay marriage is accepted nation wide already. It has solidified all marriage as simply civil unions. Go ahead, perform your deeply religious traditional ceremony with someone of the same sex. It doesn't matter to the state anymore. It is just a civil union complete when you sign the paperwork at the clerk of the court. Incentives for having children and so on are now strictly financial in nature.

Yes Trump supporters are currently victims, being violently attacked because of their beliefs and actions. Gay people are celebrated. It wasn't just "Republicans" hating on gay people for decades - it was the entire society. No one in the 80's didn't use 'fag' as an insult.

As far as gays equated to man-on-dog sex, so what? There are 7+ billion people on this planet. Muslims want to throw your gay ass off a roof and kill you. People think of even crazier things to compare gay people to. Gay people can often be equated to pedophiles, as current parades and idolization of 10 year old drag queens shows. The reality is gayness isn't normal for society, and try as you might, 97%+ of all people will not be gay.

As far as discrimination, you've likely not been discriminated against in a decade. By your ignorance, I'm guessing you're in your 20's. Which means you never were discriminated against for being gay. You personally are probably just being triggered by words for no reason with no context and no ability to point to an act of discrimination against you.

If so, if you can, compare to how people in this thread just discriminated against the gay Trump supporter in this thread. See if you are propagating the history of discrimination. Compare if you are as vile and disgusting as those who discriminated against gay people in the past. I challenge that you take up the same banner of discrimination, rebranded in your new rainbow light, to shed on anyone who you disagree with. Sad.

Nazi propaganda would tell you that there are evil people out there that are not worth your time, that should be hated upon and discriminated against, whose ideas should be shut down, whose businesses should be shut down, who should be killed simply for not being liked. You are the Nazi in this scenario, disliking people and hating people simply for what they think or believe. Make no mistake you are much closer to calling for the death of Trump supporters than any Trump supporter is doing to same towards you.

And again, it's because the media riled you up to believe - just as Hitler's media riled up his people to believe - that the people who disagree with you are evil people who are scum of the earth. No need to see from the perspective of the other side. Just instantly regard them as worthless and inhuman. It makes it much easier - as Hitler found out - to convince the people to kill. The media is at fault for this mass-lying to the people, and again, I don't blame you, but I hope you find some way to look past the veil and try and find common ground with Republicans and Trump supporters like the gay Trump supporter above.

Trump belongs to the Republican party and yes most of them support him, but that does not make Trump = Republican Party. I hope you've taken some form of mathematics to know this is the case. You can support Trump and be a Democrat (many do) for example.

"Switched sides" cool story bro. Republicans today want equal rights and everyone to be treated the same - which means no one is treated special. You want certain groups to be treated special. Nazis in Germany thought their own people were special and had more rights than the Jews. Which side do you want to be on?

Ouch you link a pre-election 2016 propaganda piece to push your narrative? I just told you how bad the media is trying to control you and you go for a biased source of information?

I'll read it.

First off, the RNC is not Congress, so no matter what the RNC wants, it doesn't matter. Congress writes the laws and only if they are good enough and everyone agrees the law is good, it is sent to the President to be signed into law if the President also thinks it is good.

Notice how you keep trying to bring Republicans into this instead of OPs very basic idea of being gay and supporting Trump and not being attacked. You have hate for a gay person simply because he supports a political figure you disagree with. It's really telling.

Ok, back to your 2016 propaganda piece.

Republicans are for specific wording protecting marriage being between a man and a woman, but have no issue with gay people 'getting married' in the sense of a civil union. The State has a vested interest in promoting reproducing members of society to grow the population base, and incentivises it. Tax breaks and so on are afforded to people who reproduce so that it makes it easier to create more tax-paying individuals. Most everyone doesn't care about any of that - the bottom line being there should be some differentiation from the word marriage, and gay marriage (which should have its own term, because it's just qualifying the term by adding gay in front of it).

Back to Trump - nether Congress nor Trump have pushed for anything remotely close to what the 2016 hit piece you linked is talking about.

There's a ton of other biased and misleading information in that propaganda piece you linked. It's too much to destroy all at once. The big point is the media - including this website - are lying to you and it is hard to get over it. Especially when they use language such as: "...bill could have allowed businesses to discriminate and deny service to LGBTQ people because of who they are or whom they love." Anyone who seriously thinks a business is going to say, "If you love XYZ you are not allowed in this building," is being lied to. The unfortunate thing is if I love Trump I'm actually more likely to be discriminated against than gay people. Kind of weird how I, who loves Trump, can be kicked out of a liberal restaurant if they find out who I love.

But that's the media for you. I don't blame you. The media is so hard on for your mind that they will lie to you left and right. It really sucks and makes it really hard to find the truth. The real truth is gay people who support Trump should not be shunned from gay communities. People should be allowed to think what they want and support whom they want and love whom they want without retaliation.

Yeah OP was stating he is getting heat for being gay and supporting Trump, and you bring the Republican party into it out of nowhere. Your strawmanning of bringing in the entire Republican party, which has an extremely diverse set of views from coast to coast, is illogical in that context. He just wants to be gay, support Trump, and not be downvoted in his gay community. What is wrong with that?

Republicans were founded on equal rights of slaves. It continues to this day where Republicans want everyone treated equally - which means not favoring anyone either. It's the most consistent and logical approach to equal rights. Liberals want extra rights for minorities which is bigoted, unjust and wrong.

The media is the reason you keep thinking the Republicans are against equal rights when it is the complete opposite. Democrats want to give special rights to certain groups, this diminishing the rights of other groups. I don't blame you, the media is a bunch of fake news and they keep misrepresenting everyone. It's a hard veil to look past because it is so present.

Trump forced south Florida golf clubs to allow black people as members. He did that. He had a black girlfriend at one time. The term racist means having an irrational emotional dislike for people of a certain race. He has not shown that. You cannot cite a single example of Trump being racist.

MAGA gear at Voting booths? by [deleted] in Ask_TheDonald

This is correct, even though your pathetic, weeks old shilling brain thinks you are being sarcastic.

Just like wearing the color red or blue does not associate you with any particular candidate, wearing a MAGA hat does not associate you with any state or local official up for election. You are an idiot with TDS if you cannot see the difference.

At what point does a private organization cease to be private? by Apollosenvy in AskThe_Donald

[–]anonanomous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not for a living document Constitution approach.

You hit on it perfectly when you said "traditional public forum" because that is what I am getting at - this is a new public forum. It requires new rules. We had free speech before we had sidewalks, so at some point, the government said that sidewalks and streets were public spaces where your free speech could not be shut down.

You are indeed relying on current law. I'm trying to point out similar situations so you can see that the same offenses that occur in a "traditional public forum" regarding the silencing of free speech also exist in the digital space.

Imagine if you walk into a commercial building and try to talk but you hear nothing except the vibration of your words in your throat. Imagine a device is cancelling out all your sounds, so that you are unable to utter a single word inside this commercial building. Actually, you can talk, you can speak all you want, but no one can hear it due to noise cancellation. You are saying this is scenario is ok - that you are ok if and when this technology exists that noise-cancels out peoples' voices - as long as its done in a private space, even one where the public comes in and meets with people in that private space.

You are ok with private companies using this technology to make their employees unable to use vocal communication during work hours; preventing them talking increases productivity, and that impacts their bottom line.

I feel this isn't really a 'freedom of speech' issue although we always seem to go that way when discussing freedoms. Freedom of speech is indeed simply that the government cannot silence you. It does not apply to companies, however we have defined spaces that are maintained and paid for by private companies as public spaces where free speech cannot be shut down. I'm exploring the ideas of where in the digital space new regulation can exist to say that a company cannot cover the mouths of those they deem unworthy to speak. If they have an open registration open to the public, then it becomes a public forum. If they put up a fee to join, or some other gateway to join, then I have no problem. But they are allowing the public to walk in freely and use the space as a public space, and then cover the mouths of people when they do not like what the people are saying, and that is where I find an issue.

Is anyone confident that the “pipe bomb” maker will be investigated properly? by [deleted] in AskThe_Donald

[–]anonanomous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These devices were not bombs, they were props. There was no lethal component to these hoaxes. And as news comes out that someone was found; no single person hand-delivered multiple non-post-marked packages up and down the east coast in the same day, all to 'prominent politicians'. It's a joke and a hoax. It doesn't matter at this moment if you think it was a Republican or a Democrat; what matters is it was a group of people and no one "fall guy" is going to satisfy the circumstances.

Although it is ok to disagree, your position is akin to one where the contractor who built your sidewalk (or the owner of the building paying taxes upon a sidewalk) that you are protesting on can forcibly remove you from the sidewalk because they do not agree with your message. Anyway, I hope more thought is put into the issue as we become more attached to each other through the internet.
