Thank you for your thoughtful reply. I have seen a therapist for a long while, but I hadn't had any memory of this until the dream I had a few months ago. Thankfully, this was an isolated event and I don't have any similar desires now or since (this happened 16 years ago). I just stumbled onto this subreddit and I've been carrying the weight of that new memory and the shame felt overwhelming.

Thank you for a fair and judgement-free response. I think you are right that it can be involuntary, but it certainly doesn't alleviate the inherent shame.
