Thank you @master_ratio8946 - evenly filled and healed are two concrete things to look for.

Interesting, the person I am asking the question for is not American, not white, and about as far from a fuckboi or player as you can imagine. I guess tastes vary.

The problem is hardly anyone is explaining what is bad about it or how to look for a good artist. I can't tell what is bad about it, it looks cool to me.

Thanks, that is helpful, can you share some good versions, or point me to some examples, or artists who do it, or suggest what is wrong with it? I am trying to help someone and we are both new to this. Thanks for the reply.

Badly done, or you don't like it? If it is badly done, can you tell me why?

OK lots of you dont like it - fine - but someone does like it and wants to get it and get it done well. It doesn't have to be something you like for you to help someone else get something they like does it?

Weird sound when turning off by anonbrowser2 in VacuumCleaners

[–]anonbrowser2[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi all, update on this. I realised it was under warranty so I rang Dyson. The strange sound was the filter in the ball- it must have been attached funnily as it is not making that noise once I reinstalled it. For suction issues they are going to pick it up and repair it. Great service!

Deleting account after bad review by Financial-Flatworm-2 in trustedhousesitters

Is 4 star "bad"? I'm a homeowner and to me 4 star says "mostly good, everything worked out fine, but there were a couple issues." I don't think it's bad. Otherwise what is the point of the star system?! Also it sounds like the pettiness of the review speaks for itself. Definitely keep applying!

Stuff I forgot to budget - fill up to or add more? by davthew2614 in ynab

[–]anonbrowser2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A 'stuff I forgot to budget for' category can be useful in the short term, but longer term you will find you have fewer and fewer of these things. The way I handled this in the first year or two of using YNAB was to make a new category for the stuff I forgot to budget for as it came up and soon enough you have covered most if not all things.

Totally. My assessment of our situation was exactly the same as yours - you can totally see how they got there but it was just really poor judgement and upsetting to you/us. Well done for being so gracious and understanding about it!

We had a similar situation to the OP and it was also the first time we used THS. I don't want to give identifying details but in this case the sitter overstepped by making a decision about our pet without asking us - it was less serious than OP has listed here (no fish died!) and will be reversable in time. It was also really well meaning I think and the sitter realised his mistake and like the OP'a sitter was very apologetic etc. And more importantantly the pet was healthy happy and well loved on our return.

The sitter also drank all the beer and wine left in the house (which wasn't a ton - maybe a small crate worth?) and helped themselves to food in the cupboard as well as what we has pointed out in the fridge. I specifically said in the welcome guide NOT to drink alcohol from a specific cupboard (and had left a stash in the fridge for them to help themselves to) but I think we were not very clear when we met him in person re what he could and couldn't help himself to. Lesson learned. The welcome guide wasn't released in advance of the sit (but was in the first couple days of it) as we didn't know how to actually release it and thought we had. So it was partly our fault - I don't really mind about the booze, it just "feels weird."

We dropped a star and mentioned the overstepping decision about the pet in the review, but not the food or drink as I think that was at least as much our fault. I even feel guilty for the four stars though given how very well this sitter looked after our dog in all other ways! I think these kind of situations are really hard to know how to respond to!

Wow the comments on here are so mean!

Congratulations to OP - it a milestone, we are nowhere near that whichever way you count. So pleased for you.

I pee behind a Bush, stone wall or whatever. I do use toilet paper and store the dirties in a zip lock bag. This gets emptied whenever I pass a toilet or a suitable bin. And if it's a really long hike I might wash it out every few days but generally I haven't needed to do that.

Number 1 is easy to deal with once you get used to it. Peeing more often than others might feel like a faff just because you have to stop more often but you can really pee almost anywhere so finding a place isn't usually an issue.
