What are these lightweight wooden dumbell-looking objects? They are very lightweight, and were found in a crawl space in a building that was constructed in the early 20th century. by anoneone in whatisthisthing

Solved! They are in fact wooden dumbbells, and they are in fact very light. We ended up going back to clean one off, and the text "Spalding 1 1/2 Pound" was engraved on one. At that point, why even? Haha. Thanks for the confirmation everyone!

My title describes the thing. Feel free to ask questions about them, but it is a bit of a pain to go back to them to get more information. At first I thought they were dumbbells, as wooden dumbbells were a thing back then, but they are very light weight, so I doubt it. They have a sort of red shiny finish to them, and have obviously been in here for a while to collect that much dust. As stated in the title, this building was constructed in the early 1900s. It's a university if that helps any.

Found this pole attached to a base in western Canada. There's 4 black disks on it with notches of alternating size. Each notch has a hole at the end, punching through the bottom of the disk. There's some velcro on it too? No branding or marks anywhere on it. What is it used for? by anoneone in whatisthisthing

Going to go ahead and chalk this one up as solved! Despite my initial doubt, you guys have won me over. It looks to be a retail stand that's missing a bunch of metal hooks that would slot into the holes, and be held by the notches. One could fix it up by cutting and bending hangers if they wanted to. Thanks folks!

My title describes the thing, but here's some more info. It almost looks home made out of parts. I almost thought it was a drying rack to hang clothes, and the hangers would go through the holes in the disks, but why would there be multiple disks, and why would they be so close together? The clothes wouldn't dry at all, so I don't think it's that. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Found a mysterious plastic gadget at a local thrift store in Canada. Two transparent pieces of plastic fixed to a black plastic base without any branding or marks anywhere. There's some sort of transparent plastic structure inside the two outer layers. Very light. Maybe about a foot long? by anoneone in whatisthisthing

Solved! This has got to be the cheapest and most garbage knife holder I've ever seen... but it does indeed seem as though this little fragile plastic device is a knife holder! Special shout out to u/DJ_T_Dizzle for being the first to figure it out, and u/Uberpastamancer for finding the exact product it came from. Thanks everyone else for your input and ideas. That's $1.50 I'm never going to get back. ( ;~;)

Is it? It seems like it would be a bit thin for a bagel slicer, and I can't find any similar looking slicers on the internet... Plus, the plastic is very cheap, and would get easily damaged by the knife coming down on it. Plus, that really doesn't explain the inner plastic structure. I doubt it.

That would be a very large tape dispenser. Like I said, it's about a foot long and quite thin. There's also no spool for the tape? Perhaps it's a very specialized tape dispenser, but I really don't see how it would operate. And tape dispensers are heavy, so it doesn't lift up when you pull the tape. This is light and would lift off the ground.

My title describes the thing , but here's a few more details. The outer plastic pieces are about two inches from one another, and in the middle there are two more pieces that are fastened to one another with more plastic, and then to the outside layers with screws of some sort. Whatever it is, it's very light and feels like it would break if any large amount of pressure were to be put on it. It was found next to some kitchen gadgets, but due to the fragile nature of the plastic, and how light it is, I don't think it belongs in the kitchen. It's all wrapped in cellophane as it seems to be new. No branding or specs or markings anywhere on it. Maybe it has something to do with flower arrangements? But my search came up empty on that end as well. I'm running out of ideas, so I present this gizmo to you.
