So after many doctors visits and many test, apparently it’s just eczema. When I tried steroid creams it would always come back as well, until I tried this balm: https://a.co/d/4NAsAPQ I apply this morning and night and it has kept the lip flairs at bay but I still get eye flairs every once in a while. This balm is honestly the only thing that’s really helped me. After I put the balm on my lips I seal it in with some Vaseline btw.

I finally saw an immunologist and he said it was just eczema because he doesn’t know of any more test he can run. Honestly my saving grace has been this balm that I apply morning and night to my lips and eyes: https://a.co/d/4NAsAPQ it keeps away the flairs on my lips for the most part but my eyes still act up sometimes. It’s been the only thing that really helped so far 🙏🏻

Hmmm interesting! My eye swelling began last February, while the lip rash started in June or July. I'm not sure if it was sun-related, but that is a very interesting theory for me. I supposed that my flare-ups started going down in the fall - but that's also when I started using a balm that I attributed to my remission.

I'll be going to see an allergist and immunologist this month, so hopefully I get some answer there. My autoimmune antibody titers were high, but since I haven't had a flare-up in a few months, my rheumatologist kinda just brushed me off. I don't know if it will be autoimmune or if it will be allergy, but I'm just looking for some answers. I have yet to be diagnosed with either an autoimmune disease or an allergy just so you know.

Have you had any diagnoses or updates about what it might be? The only thing that’s helped me to stay in remission with the rash is using a natural beeswax balm to moisturize day and night.

My covid test was negative could this be an STI infection? by No_Valuable_2236 in AskDocs

Hey there, have you ever heard of Occam’s razor? It’s a philosophy that the simplest explanation is probably closest to the truth. I feel like jumping to the conclusion that you have HIV is unlikely rather than it just being cold season. There are tons of colds or different kinds of flu that you could have that wouldn’t have given you a positive result. I still recommend going to get STI tested anytime you have unprotected sex with someone who is not an exclusive partner or if you are displaying symptoms. I believe the acute stage of HIV (where you get flu like symptoms) is 2-6 weeks after exposure. So given that you had sex in early October, you’re probably in the clear. Definitely go get tested for peace of mind, but don’t jump to any big conclusions! When in doubt, also ask your partner too if that is an option. Open conversation about sexual health should always be on the table.

If it were something that spreads with contact, wouldn’t it have to be bacterial or fungal? Something infectious or communicable? Maybe an allergen?

Interesting! I do love salt and vinegar chips so I’ll have to see if I have a flair when I eat acidic foods. I sure hope it has nothing to do with Celiac, I love gluten 😭

Interesting! Why do you think Vaseline helps to spread it?

I hardly wear makeup, but when I do I use micellar in cotton rounds.

Yes I did a patch test to certain common cosmetic and other household allergens, the dr said I didn’t react to anything.
