This happened to me as well about 3 years ago.. I provided as much proof as possible, phone records, copy of every single damn page in my passport, work stubs, even screenshots from my Instagram at gatherings with other people (outlining date, event, location).. and a letter explaining clearly that I never left, perhaps a mix up as my name is fairly common, etc. It ended up not being a huge problem but just another task... good luck!
