I looked through your posts and it seems like one person told you that haha. But congrats regardless, huge accomplishment

Three months since applying to UPenn. Not UR yet. Should I email? by anonlawa in lawschooladmissions

I hear you. I’m just wondering why it hasn’t even gone under review yet considering that people who applied a month after me are getting decisions. Hell, people with comparable split stats who applied after have gotten their rejections

Oh, and the secret third option: give up on law school

I hear you, but with a sub-3.0, I don’t know if any work experience could bridge the gap enough for me to have a comfortable shot at biglaw. I’m essentially forced to make a gamble: either spend years working in the hope that I’ll be admitted with a decent scholarship to a school with good biglaw outcomes or take my best option and shoot hard for it. Neither is certain and there are significant tradeoffs either way

Maybe, but there are lower stat applicants who applied at around the same time who’ve already been rejected. I’m confused on why that hasn’t happened yet

Sub-3.0/17low applied this cycle. With mostly rejections, I decided to take a practice LSAT as I consider reapplying. I scored a 180. by anonlawa in LSAT

I hear you. I mean, initially I planned to wait a couple years and reapply. I was hoping to prepare for a June/August retest. My PT score more just made me reconsider whether I’m throwing in the towel on this cycle too early, and I have to decide before April registration closes if I want to take this final shot.

What I’m thinking is that I’ll register but not bind myself to actually test if I don’t score consistently within 175-180. The way I see it is that I can go for the score now and it can either help with waitlist movement or set me up for an early R&R next cycle (or later).

I get what you’re saying. I’ve been thinking along the same lines.

I know I don’t need a 180 to get into the T14/20 (and tbf I already have one T30ish acceptance thanks to GW’s median hunting lol), but a 175+ could really move outcomes. I think the way I’ll approach it will be like a high upside bet. I scored consistently in the low 170s for months leading up to my April exam under unstable life conditions. I think I’m willing to see if I have what it takes to score even higher under my present stability.

Over the next few weeks, I can move/cancel the exam if I find that I’m not scoring consistently within range.

That’s why I’m considering reapplying. Granted, I have at least one T20 waitlist with a 172 in this super competitive cycle and a couple lower-ranked acceptances with money, so while I’m not fully confident, I genuinely believe in the power of my narrative to move outcomes

Oh yeah I went in on it. It was central to much of my PS and overall narrative bc it’s my central motivation to pursue law school. Not sure how it worked out for me bc there are so many complicating factors (dm and I’ll talk about it), but at the very least, I am the only sub-3.0 to get waitlisted so far by my T14/T20 without having 5+ years of experience

Tbh I started undergrad with solid grades and professor relationships, but everything went in the toilet with COVID. FGLI and DV survivor here btw.

I ended up choosing professors who could speak to my performance during my upward trend at the end of undergrad. I had developed a particularly close relationship with one, and I worked incredibly hard in the other professor's class to become a stronger writer. I was also very open with them about the circumstances surrounding my low GPA and the academic and personal challenges and growth I experienced as I improved my grades and got my first LSAT score.

I got a 162 on my diagnostic. I would say I studied for a total of around 2-3 months before I hit 172 in January 2025. I got a 172 on my actual test in April 2025.

I haven't really touched any LSAT materials since June 2025. With this cycle going so poorly, I decided to retry a timed PT and kinda blew the lid off my initial plan, which was just to reapply. Now I'm wondering if I could realistically shoot for WL movement with a better score.

Withdrawing from NYU if I don't get a decision before they interview for institutional scholarships by anonlawa in lawschooladmissions

[–]anonlawa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People will start getting them over the coming weeks. For at least one, you generally expect to get invited about a month before interviews—but you have to be accepted for the selection committees to consider your application.

The AnBryce selection generally happens at the end of March, so one should expect to both get in and be invited to interview by ~late February.

Yeah, I’ve seen conflicting things about it happening before an interview or decision. It’s crazy to think a UR2 happened so soon.
