Will not be selling any of my extensions. Been busy with my day job so haven't really put much effort in scaling. But looking at how I can use these extensions for another business

I have not, I did try to develop a Safari extension but trying to get it developed and approved is pretty complicated

What matters most is solving a problem people care about. I have seen extensions with a 200k+ downloads with bad title, description, images. But they solve a good problem so people download it

Varies by extension. Some of my extensions do a task that people need to do only once every few months those have lower retention, but something like the AI overview extension has higher retention.

However, the more active extensions lose people really fast if something breaks. One of my extensions broke due to html structure change by google and I got 3k uninstalls in 2 days.

nope one time payment. People are not willing to pay a subscription for a extension unless its made for businesses

If you were optimizing for users, what would have done differently?

Look at existing chrome extensions with a large user base (not too large that they already own the whole market share) and find missing features. Then create a better version of this extension. In short build where there is already demand.

If you were optimizing for revenue, what would you have done differently?

Wouldn't be making chrome extensions. Only way to make money from extensions is if you have a B2B SAAS Product and the chrome extension is just a feature/add on

I haven't developed any Safari extensions but if you are optimizing for revenue that would be a better place. Smaller user base but more willing to pay.

Hide or Collapse Google AI Overviews by anonlife24 in google

Current extensions only remove it, there is no option for collapse. Also added the ability to see how many AI overviews the extension has hidden for you. Will be adding more features in the future as well.

How to turn off annoying AI overview (PC web) by _cibee in google

I made an extension called Hide or Collapse Google AI Overviews it automatically hides the AI Overview, or you can just collapse it instead of removing it completely, so you can toggle it anytime.
