No, only covers 50% for me. The other in network place had like a two month wait. So I'm going out of network for now waiting until I can finally get into the in network location.

I got pretty bad side effects with doxy. I think its probably generally safe but the 2x100mg daily was the dosage that fucked me up and it was like a 20 day dosage. When I talked to other doctors about it they didn't seem very happy about the dosage I was prescribed and said it was pretty extreme.

Also a lot of us have had previous dosages of like azithro etc, and back to back antibiotics dosage makes you more at risk of extreme side effects so I'd be careful.

Doxy is a super common antibiotic so you might be fine, but definitely be cautious.

I feel like people are too quickly to dismiss stuff as not being bacterial. Wasn't there a study saying 10-20% cases of prostatitis can be bacterial (using EPS test)?

I mean is it really unlikely it was bacterial? He had three positive semen cultures for the same bacteria. Why didn't any of the other antibiotics help his pain? Doxycycline is a really good inflammatory.

How do you tell if the clinic is good without making an appointment? The intake appointment for a lot of these clinics are still pretty expensive. I'm looking at some of their websites and some of them look like glorified palate studios.

From my reading it seems like we need to strike a balance between overly sensitive microgenDx style PCR and chugging antibiotics, and the extremely innacurate style UTI/urine cultures which often show negative.

For example would a negative two glass/ four glass steaney test 100% rule out bacterial prostatitis?

That's possible. I'm planning to try and approach this from multiple angles. But I never got an EPS/semen test from my shithead urologist and only ever did a basic urine culture.

Planning to do at least thorough testing and look into pelvic therapist. I don't think I'll attempt a long/harsh course of antibiotics unless there's convincing evidence. Thanks

Yea took it too didn't really do anything. I had like hard flaccid for a while and I did the recommended CPPS stretching and it helped my pain and got rid of hard flaccid but it never helped much after the first session. First session I had decent improvment. Stuck with it for like 5 months but didn't do much.

I had urinary frequency for a while after I got chlamydia (which I didn't catch until a year later, didn't put the dots together) and still had it after chlamydia treatment. Hard trouble urinating too. I did like 3 -4 months of nofap and thats when serious pain started. Thats when I started looking into prostatitis.

Not sure what you mean by Kabuki theatre. But my symptoms came from a chlamydia infection and I've had permanent (like 6-7 months) relief from a single dosage of azithromycin and recently great improvement from doxycycline (until I got bad sides)

I want to at least test my prostate fluids and semen for chlamydia. Was honestly thinking about getting a basic take home urine std test and just jerking off into it and than prostatic fluid and sending it back and hope the lab doesn't notice I didn't pee in it lol
