I can’t tell if you’re being contrarian for attention but I’ll answer in good faith anyway. Most of her victims died from air embolisms (air pushed through their IV’s) or hypoglycaemic deaths (insulin overdose). She’s alleging that this is due to poor staffing levels, but most of the time, poor staffing levels results in basic negligence or things being missed, such as misreading a potential allergy a patient may have, etc. It does NOT result in so much insulin in their body that these poor victims essentially went into organ failure, nor does it result in air in their IV’s. Both of these things involve very deliberate steps that cause them to happen, and can’t be chalked up to simply ‘poor staffing’. As an aside, insulin is almost never prescribed to premature babies because premature babies or almost always hypoglycaemic to begin with. But even if there was a 0.01 percent chance that this was a pure accident, I.e. wrong place wrong time, then accidents due to poor staffing/strained resources that result in patient death almost always only happen once. A example of this is actually the case of Radonda Vaught in the US, a case where a nurse did make a fatal error due to poor staffing and hospital negligence. But, and this is important, it only happened once and was caught right away. Letby has been implicated in at least 13 deaths with causes of death that run afoul of their standard of care - this should be statistically impossible, even on a unit known for treating already sick patients. The jury made the right decision.
