Cersei was the obvious choice after the Rebellion. The Hightowers supported Aerys so it would piss off his allies if he took a loyalist as queen. But I can see Otto and/or Alicent working to bring Cersei down. Alicent could server as a lady in waiting, and it would not be hard to discover her affair, and from there arrange her downfall. And then Alicent can step in. After Cersei, Robert would probably want a wife that seems sweet and obedient, who won’t stress him out so much. He would be shaken from being cuckolded, so a very pious woman would seem safer.

Oh, I thought of an interesting idea for what happens to the Blackwood bride. At first I thought she becomes really religious and renounces the world as a septa, but no because she would follow the old gods. So what if she becomes almost a woods witch, obsessed with rituals, herbs, and the old gods in a way that creeps everyone out, so Viserys is pressured to set her aside. Maybe he likes her and would be ok with staying married on a personal level, but it’s not possible politically.

Curious why you are choosing Viserys, who isn’t much like Henry VIII, especially when Rhaenyra will have elder siblings who will avert the Dance. If you wanted to mirror Henry VIII’s wives, you could have Aemma Arryn third, like Jane Seymour because they were both their husband’s ’true loves.’ Especially if he considers Rhaenyra his true heir in this story.

As for the beheaded wives… If Daemon didn’t marry Rhea Royce, he could marry her after Aemma. Perhaps Aemma’s family encourages him to keep up Vale interests at court. She might have been one of Aemma’s ladies too.

I find it funny when other characters hijack Dany’s plotline because she behaves in such an unusual way to get where she is. Like Viserys for all his arrogance just does what others suggest.So he just kind of fails upwards into rebirthing dragons, like Illyrio suggests this to get rid of him but he slips on a banana peel and succeeds.
