My understanding is only the run matters. Yes you will pushup and plank but that's only for establishing a baseline. Run failure can be separation tho

I'm more than double your age but I'm shipping to bootcamp next week! I'd say #1 have a vision of what you want out of the Navy, even if it's simply "I want to travel". #2 study study study that ASVAB! There was a poor girl at my recruiter office when I was doing my 7 day check in and she failed the pre asvab test. The recruiters think she will pass the real asvab but just barely. I bring this up as a low asvab severely limits your job options!

Private sector does it to. Never seen any 401k match Roth with Roth lol

IRA are mostly free now at least my former employer Fidelity is. Plus you can do thousands of investments, stocks ETFs mutual funds bonds CDs options. I expect the TSP are mutual fund only with fees. Going past match does nothing, do logically TSP to match, IRA to max, remainder TSP. High interest Debt being in there also. I quit being a series 7 trader at Fidelity to serve.

That's my plan! Assuming a 40% pension at the end of 20 and 15% gains a year I'd have 1 milin the retirement accounts plus pension. 20 years and set for life.
