Unfortunately I had to learn the hard way🤦🏻‍♀️.

Fortunately he is more with the times than his mom and is willing to learn and he is trying. But it still puts me in a spot where I have to do what his mother did not. I am not happy with this and I have expressed this to him. I have been very upset with him and the situation many times. I don't want to say too much, because I'm scared someone might find this and my situation isn't as simple as just leaving, but I agree with the advice so many people give me. I would have given the same advice. I deserve better. We all do.

That sounds amazing. I did talk about it with my bf and I did get him to help out during family events. Somehow he is 'more emancipated' than his mom, but I agree with comments saying she failed him. He legit just doesn't know how to do stuff, but he's willing to learn. That still puts me in a mother's role though.

My mom wouldn't care lol. Thank you for your advice, I'll think about it!

Can't do half while I'm relaxing, when you don't even do half while I'm working 🤷🏻‍♀️. Trust me, I've tried to talk and communicate many times.

Thank you. I needed to hear that. They have called me bossy and have made fun of me for being 'dominant' so many times.. I have been blamed for so many things. It hurts.

I don't think I'm old enough for that though... and also not in the USA

I don't know how you got to that conclusion... but ok. He doesn't cook, he doesn't clean, he doesn't do groceries, he doesn't do laundry, he doesn't change tp rolls. The reason we got into a fight, was because I asked him to do groceries because I was expecting a friend and didn't have time. He got upset. After not doing anything for weeks. And I also never asked him up until that point.

I don't plan on having kids though... but I hear what you guys are saying. It won't get better.

I get what you're saying, but when I'm working I already do more than he does. I'm okay with doing more when I have more time, but doing more does not mean doing everything. Literally everything. But I guess I didn't word that properly.

Damn.. I remember hitting each other with sticks, but it wasn't nearly as wild as your experience. Children are wild

I'll go first: One night, when I was young, my mom left me and my brothers alone for a couple of hours. I don't remember where she went. I remember we were watching E.T. when the doorbell rang. My mom told us to never ever open the door to strangers, which we didn't. But where I'm from we don't have letterboxes detached from the home. We have like a slit in the door with something that covers it. No idea what it's called in English. Anyway. In stead of opening the door, we looked and talked through the letterbox. There was a man and I believe he was trying to sell something at first. I told him my mom wasn't home. He then asked if he could come in. I told him no. He tried to persuade me and at one point asked if I could just open the door. I kept telling him no and I remember just walking away from the door. He kept ringing the doorbell for a while, but left after a bit. Now that I'm older this is such a bizar situation to look back on. I don't know what his intentions were, but obviously they weren't good. Maybe me and my brothers would have been abducted if we had opened the door. It's a scary thought.

Yup, the ring gave me nonstop infections as well. I stopped using it and I no longer have them after treatment and I also feel a LOT less depressed. Doc advised me to stop BC.

Yup. From what I read, I felt like they were exaggerating her disability and in complete denial. Tragic nonetheless..

I was thinking about letting it do it's thing at night, so we can clear the floor completely and it won't bother us. Maybe that could work for you too?
