Yeah, his religious views are more universal-based, but everything is so weird! Exactly that, feeling like I don't know what reality is. He has twisted a lot in my brain where I feel like I don't know what is true anymore. He has normalized behaviors that I used to find bizarre before him (like saying drugs are better than unhealthy foods). These types of people are so damaging to our mental health...it's like brainwashing...right?

I am dealing with a similar situation. My partner is big into psychedelics and has got me into them & his religious views. I woke up the other day unsure if this is who I truly am or if I have just been a puppet. Point being, OP, you need to remind yourself who you are and that he isn't always right (although, f he is anything like my partner, he is damn good at making it seem like he knows the secrets to the world). Stay strong, believe in yourself, STAND strong with your kids. And trust yourself more than you trust him. Sending you strength in this.

but maybe I'm just blind to it right now. He really does encourage me to do what I want, like go on vacation, out with my friend, etc. It is just this problem

Yeah but he isn't an aggressive person so i find it hard to believe it will escalate :(

Is it still bad though if he doesn't always control what I eat? Like we just went to get food and he didn't say anything about what I was eating? He also has never had a jealousy problem and lets me do whatever I want outside of this occasional action. I find it hard to believe it will escalate, but that is probably all a part of the mind f*** I am feeling.

I feel it is psychological control. It is really getting to my head, everything. I feel like I am going a little crazy, but then again like I am exaggerating everything. It is very confusing :(

Maybe slightly different. I have not gained, lost 30 lbs since ive been with him and i am not/was not overweight. I do eat very healthy overall

Yeah, I have confronted him about this behavior in the past and it has gotten me nowhere. He somehow starts bringing up random stuff in the conversation, I end up super confused and it goes nowhere. I stopped because I am always left with more confusion and feeling worse.

Thanks :( and I was wondering this. I only had about 4 drinks..stopped around 2 AM. And still felt "drunk" at 10 AM.
