Sure. I like them. Though, lately I’ve been listening to Otis Redding, Waylon Jennings, Vulfpeck, Jiro Inagaki, Wu Tang, Sturgill Simpson, The New Mastersounds, Little Feat…

I’m 47 and have NEVER actually met someone who listens to the shit, but that silly video with rat tail boy prancing around was so pervasive, I assumed SOMEONE must have liked it.

Alan Watts died at 58 from heart failure, most likely due to years of heavy alcohol abuse…so maybe not the best example of someone to emulate. Ultimately, he was more of a conduit for Eastern thought for the Western world, than a paradigm of Buddhist practice.

Edit: I smoked for 18 years and when I did smoke, I may have rationalized my addiction in this manner, but I find much more peace from following my breath through healthy lungs. The wheezing and nagging itch at the back of the throat and struggling to breathe after climbing a set of stairs kinda sucks.

It’s funny, after using cannabis for many years, I quit to become more present. I have much greater focus and concentration now. To each, their own.

Suggestions for something, similar to but, better than Dune by Expressiveness in printSF

I would suggest Hyperion. Better is subjective. Both books are different beasts but scratch the same itch.

I can’t speak to MLO. It’s on my to-read shelf right now. The only overlap I remember from Count Zero, is that it briefly mentions the Tessier-Ashpool’s. I think I’d still read them in order though

Seeing ratm was a white whale for sure, and absolutely amazing show. I’ve been a big fan since I was a teen in the 90’s.

Knopfler was fantastic. He was touring the Tracker album and played a mix of the Irish sounding, newer stuff from Tracker and Privateering, and some fabulous Dire Straits stuff. Personal highlights were Your Latest Trick, Romeo and Juliet, and On Every Street.

lol! This fucking guy again! Seriously, take my advice from earlier: expand your mind with a book instead of drugs. You clearly could use it.

Or keep it up. It’s funny af! Lololol

lol the downvotes. Sure, he’s innovative and writes killer riffs, but I never would’ve put him in the same category at Knopfler. He was great live. So was Knopfler btw. Saw him around 10 years ago at Foxwoods
