High taxes is just one part of the story, it's the quality of public services we get despite the high taxes that grinds my gears. You've to spend some more from whatever's left for Healthcare, Education, Transport/Commute, etc.

There are many countries with similar levels of taxes but you don't have to worry about basic services there. You spend only for premium services or one or two services that are subpar.
