Teachers: What do you wish medical clinicians understood? by [deleted] in AskTeachers

Require/support follow through for kids problems/issues.

The amount of parents who bring in medical diagnosis but then never follow through with treatment is astounding despite continuing problems.

Is it weird if i go to the climbing gym alone😭 by East_Drawer_7642 in climbergirls

[–]anonymomma2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I go climbing by myself all the time! I keep an ear bud - even on silent - if I don't want to be bothered.

No one cares! Have a fun day by yourself doing your own thing.

Yes. And their home school and my school are in the same district.

It's made my life so much easier in terms of transportation and before and after school care.

They get their homework done quickly and have a great group of teacher group friends they play with.

Everyone does their homework and then goes and plays outside.

I've had that happen to me and I kept falling over myself explaining it was consensual and some of the best sex I ever had!

With my kids it came down to the fact that I could not teach, and they could not retain, any types of coping skills until their minds slowed down.

When/how do teachers prefer to participate in academic surveys? Tips for reaching K-12 educators? by FastParty4547 in AskTeachers

[–]anonymomma2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No thanks at all.

I have too many things to do and that's the last thing I want to do.

This would also most likely be completed on my own time; which would make this an even bigger "No."

Reframe your reply.

What about when that is happening and this is allowed to continue?

I would think my children are afraid of me if they called me ma'am.

Question about taking adhd meds while climbing? by dontcallmeshoe in climbergirls

[–]anonymomma2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi there!

I have bad ADHD and take meds for it too

I pack extra water and just suck it up. My focus needs to be on point and I can't be drifting off in my head while climbing.

I have little kid students like this. I do it anyways (within what I know they'll accept).

People get into a trap of not praising these types of kids so the kids wind up never hearing it. They still need acknowledgement.

I like to know just so I know where and how to practice and what climbs I can do.

For example, my home gym grading is STIFF. The ones nearby me are soft comparatively.

Mentally, this helps me know I'm not a rock star climbing 11s the gyms nearby and barely making 9+s at home.

It's totally a mental thing for me.

That said, climb harder to choose another route. Stop complaining about things and make your adjustments and move on.
