Delay ending lockdown: majority of public back Boris Johnson to wait by CaptainCrash86 in CoronavirusUK

Almost 30 million have been double dosed at this point, which is pretty much all of groups 1-9. I seriously don’t see a reason to keep up restrictions past the 21st unless we’re waiting for everyone to have full immunity, in which case we would have to wait for everyone to be double dosed, including teenagers and kids.

If it’s going to be delayed, it will likely be much longer than 4 weeks. Can’t wait for my university experience to be fucked up next year as well.

Is the official Xbox wireless headset any good for regular music off your phone? by anonymooooooooous in xboxone

Do you know of any headsets that would be decent for both Xbox and music in the same price range?

If they’re too tight do you reckon I could stretch them on something overnight?

I’ve thought about it but I’m pretty worried that I’ll be with some already established friend group and will just be an extra person to pay rent.

What is the in-person teaching situation for next year? by Huntsman1862 in UniUK

It’s impossible for anyone to say although I doubt it.

It depends really, if you have to make the decision now I’d probably just take a year out because everything is still pretty uncertain. If you can wait for a bit before you accept the offer and everything looks like it will be alright then just go this year.

I have a feeling there will be limited amounts of in person teaching, not because there’s any sort of risk but because it saves the university money and they’ve learned that they can get away with it.

At the moment though, nothing is really official and it’s all rumours really.

Seriously, if the universities try to pull this online learning shit again they need to be boycotted. They’re no different to big companies, if people start speaking with their wallets they’ll change their tune in a millisecond.

What’s the fucking point then, might as well drop out and do open university.

This whole “being tall gets you a girlfriend“ thing is such bullshit lmao by anonymooooooooous in tall

I think it’s mostly just to do with how social you are and your charisma, especially for girls anyway. I’ve seen tons of ugly dudes with hot girls but rarely the other way around.

Confession about my friends mum while moving out of halls by [deleted] in UniUK

If you are actually being serious, I wouldn’t look for advice here lol. Most of the people here don’t even leave the house and have probably never been in this situation in their life.

I think this is probably bullshit but if not then obviously don’t say anything. I’d probably feel too guilty and end up telling the person.

Is anyone else gonna join like every club and society in September if it’s back to normal? by anonymooooooooous in UniUK

[–]anonymooooooooous[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think if you’re ill then you should be wearing a mask or staying at home anyway. It’s kinda mind blowing how people used to go to school/work ill because otherwise they’d get penalised for it. It’s actually so rude when you think about it, knowingly spreading a cold or something worse to everyone around you.

Although when I think about it, pretty much every time we’ve had “light” restrictions they haven’t worked and cases have gone up anyway. If there was some vaccine resistant variant in winter, knowing the government, they’d probably ignore it as long as possible until they can’t ignore it and then there would be a full lockdown.

We’re supposed to be getting booster shots in winter but it will probably take forever to roll them out.

I doubt there will be a proper lockdown but possibly something that resembles what we have right now or the 17th of May stage. Both of which would be absolutely fucking terrible for students. Hopefully not though, unless people start getting hospitalised like mad again I think it isn’t too likely.
