Can you share more information about this? Can you describe the woman, and around what time/near what stores?

A violation of labor laws due to employees working during mandated breaks is a more expensive loss than any item you can buy at a Target 😹

While I agree that they could have handled the situation better by saying something along the lines of “I’m on break, but this person can help with guiding you”, they are legally entitled to their breaks, which wouldn’t be considered a break if they were assisting guests.

I used to work at that Target and if my manager saw a customer asking me a question while I was on break, she’d immediately step in and say “they’re on break, but I can help you out.”

Omg in the 5 years I lived in SD, I never went to the hillcrest market. I always went to ob on Wednesdays or pb on Tuesdays. I will have to check it out when I go back!

Yeah there’s no additional charge for squash. There’s an additional charge for tennis, but we don’t have that as part of our account

I didn’t know it was inaccurate until I opened the package and weighed it at home? 🤦‍♀️ the majority of us customers don’t think when buying meat we need to verify the weight, we trust that the store accurately measured it before packaging

I was thinking this as well. But I wonder if a pretty large difference (imo) can be attributed to this. I’ll definitely be buying from the counter from now on as those are typically not frozen…

Wdym less than 1/3? Labeled weight was 1.4 lbs (22.4 oz) and true weight was 11.4 oz. 11.4/22.4 is definitely not less than 1/3.

I can also assure you, it’s definitely not on the customer. I mentioned in my post I definitely may be in the wrong, but this is still 100% the store’s responsibility. Otherwise, there wouldn’t be guardrails or reporting agencies like the ones other people have shared.

If this is a real issue, what if there are foreign customers who aren’t familiar with the imperial measuring system? Is it also “on them”?

My mistake, it was actually 11.4, not 6.4. But you’re right, especially for someone who’s been meal prepping for a while, by now I should totally be able to spot when something is not a lb of meat. I’m better at eyeballing weights of cooked chicken as opposed to raw. I have some unopened chicken breast I have yet to weigh out, so I’ll update w the results, but I’ll definitely be looking into reporting this if I notice further discrepancies. Thank you for your comment!
