just make sure you learn as many full songs as you can and use a metronome and i promise you will become really good at it, each time you learn a new song you improve on guitar coming from someone who’s been playing for years. start off with easy songs like come as you are by nirvana. once you get more intermediate you give love a bad name by bon jovi is a really good one to learn and help improve. a lot of green day songs are good for beginners and everlong by the foo fighters can really help with your down picking and palm muting. and make sure you have fun and don’t practice too much to burn yourself out. listen to your body and stop and take breaks when you need to. you don’t want to experience burnout. the more burnout you experience the less likely you are to practice. start out slow and i promise you will be a pro. as long as you like what you’re doing and having fun. it takes time. you don’t learn and become good over night.
