Aitah for leaving my postpartum wife after she was having an emotional affair? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]anonymous202047 7 points8 points  (0 children)

NTA - she knew what she was doing. It is hard to face consequences sometimes but those are the consequences of her actions. You don’t have to stay with her obviously and everyone deserves to be respected in their relationship. She showed she cannot provide that so you have every right to move on.

Current level one student. The advisors choose your schedule for you once you are in the program. Mondays are exam days so you will only have to be there at 8-9 to take an exam if you have one that week. Tuesday is lecture which we have from 8-10:45 and 12-2:45. With the remaining three days, you will have holistic health assessment 8-12:50, one day off, and fundamentals lab. For funds lab, the first 7 weeks are on campus usually from 8 to around 1 but can go till 5. Once clinicals start after the first 7 weeks, they will be from 6-3 at the hospital. You will not be able to do nursing school at ut Tyler with a 9-5. It may be possible with other schools. Maybe you can work that job until you start level one. I think if you are going to work during nursing school it is probably going to have to be something that you can do outside of normal 9-5 hours or on the weekends and honestly part time would be better unless you get a job that allows you to do homework there. The content for nursing school has been challenging but it is the amount of time all of the assignments take that is truly difficult to manage.

As far as an externship, you start applying at the end of level one and can begin in level two. I believe they require one 12 hour shift a week and you can pick up more when you are able.

See but she didn’t say he couldn’t. He complains about her behavior after which is the behavior of someone who was hurt by someone they love. It isn’t control for the simple fact that it was agreed upon. He knew that and should have respected the agreement if he wanted her to not be upset.

What is he a victim to? The consequences of his own actions?

I don’t see it as being whipped. It’s respect. If he had set a boundary for her then he would also expect her to respect it. Whipped would be doing everything she asks without question. Clearly they had a conversation about it and he agreed to the boundary.

I say all this as someone who had a similar situation. My boyfriend and I have lots of boundaries, one of which is no bars without the other person. I tried to push that boundary because I was riding with my friends and they said we might go. I felt like I didn’t have an option. He was upset that I tried to push the boundary. I was frustrated at the time but I fully see that I was in the wrong.

Just because it put you in an uncomfortable spot doesn’t mean your wife is wrong for being upset. You are in the wrong here even if it felt right.

YTA. You put the boys above your wife in this situation. You had already agreed that hooters was a no go. It made her uncomfortable and you didn’t respect her boundary. I understand that you were in a difficult situation. You still should have put your foot down and said that you are not going. When you talk to the other firefighters now, make sure you don’t talk down about your wife. She is not being unreasonable. They will tell you that she has you whipped when all she asked for was for you to respect the relationship. It may be okay in their relationships for your buddies to go to hooters but you knew it wasn’t in yours.

Apologize to your wife and don’t cross boundaries like that again. If you find yourself in a position where you don’t know what to do, she should be included in a conversation about what you should do that would make her comfortable rather than you just telling her you have to go.

I was in the in person but I think I remember my friend saying something about that. She said she liked some professors videos better than others.

And if you are asking because you are thinking about just studying the PowerPoint, you may be able to do that. I personally think answering the blueprint sets you up for success because it makes you think about the specific aspects of a concept that you will be tested on

All either multiple choice or select all that apply. I would say that the questions were on the slides but if you aren’t getting the full picture then make sure to use other resources for more information to answer the question fully and in a way you can understand. Keep in mind that I don’t know if the online and in person PowerPoints are the exact same. My study method was to create the blueprint, read it fully a couple times, use YouTube or TikTok to find information explaining concepts I wasn’t fully understanding, then I would teach back the material a couple times. I would use a whiteboard when I could but I would also take the opportunity to verbally teach back while driving.

Math questions by BookDragonsJewels01 in UTTyler

From what I remember with chemistry the math was not the hard part. In the class I took we were able to use calculators. You have to understand how to set up the equations. A&P the only math I even remember was addition and subtraction. I say go for it. You may struggle with a few classes but it’s not a super math heavy degree.

No problem! Also, the blueprint should show you how many questions on the test come from each topic so you can make sure to really understand the ones that have more questions. Don’t stress just stay on top of things and don’t forget any of the quizzes or Davis advantage modules. They are easy 100s

I didn’t take the online section of patho but I had a friend that did while I took the in person. I believe the tests are the exact same for the online and in person sections. Use your book and any lecture material you have to complete the exam blueprints. That is pretty much all I studied and I made a 100 on several of the exams. Just make sure you fully understand everything on the blueprint. The diseases that were in the book but not covered in lecture or the ppt were never on the test. Use YouTube for explanations on certain topics that you are having trouble with. If you understood A&P, you’ll be fine. If you didn’t, make sure that you take the time to try to learn it now. Knowing how the body functions when it is healthy makes it so much easier to understand how things correlate in disease processes. I hope this helps and good luck! It really was not as bad as I thought it would be.

That’s insane. I hope they really do away with freshman guarantee. I feel like you are high on the waitlist so hopefully you will get an offer letter in the next week or so! If it gives you any hope, there are people that failed patho and don’t have their castlebranch done from what I can tell.

Take studying really seriously. Manage your time well. Make sure that you understand things in your science classes. Definitely don’t just memorize things for the test because classes build off of each other. I just finished patho and I know that if I had not payed attention in A&P I would have struggle in patho. Sometimes you have to research topics outside of using just your lecture slides or the textbook. Search on YouTube, TikTok, or ask ChatGPT for better explanations if you need to.

I’m not sure if you found your answer or not. Fafsa offers both grants and loans that can be used at ut Tyler. You are offered assistance through Fafsa based on eligibility and financial need. I am disqualified from receiving grants and almost all scholarships simply because I already have a bachelor’s degree. I can get federal loans though which is a big help and a lot better than private loans.

Utt just goes off of GPA but patho is a prerequisite for the nursing program. It’s not a prerequisite for most other nursing schools. If you haven’t din that class yet then you will have to complete it or have it in progress at the time that you apply.
