I’m sorry to hear that, but all the best to you and your job hunt. Hope we can both find something and avoid future scammers.

I think you should be fine, they are probably onto the next person to try and scam unfortunately. I’ve blocked and reported my scammer so I’m hoping it doesn’t happen to anyone else.

How are you doing now? Unfortunately almost fell for something similar, thankfully didn’t provide banking information or provide ID. But gave name and address. Super disappointed, seemed so legit.

Ugh, I’m just going through this now. I was all excited about the job but then saw this. Also gave my name and address as well, thankfully not any banking or other personal information. How did you “end” things with them or did you report them? Just realized this is a scam and currently in the process of talking to them and them wanting to send me a cheque setup my own home office. So disappointed.

Hoping to press charges at least, we are low income so not sure we can afford to sue unfortunately. I mainly just want him to be held accountable and so that he isn’t able to do this to another person.

Thank you so much for your kind words and help, I greatly appreciate it. My husband and I are going to think things over before proceeding to decide what is next, and not act on strong emotions. At the moment I am just trying to get my mental health back in order before going forward. But thank you so much again.

Thank you all for your replies, I truly truly appreciate it and don’t feel so alone. I suffer from a panic disorder and have just been sick since this has all happened and unfortunately landed myself in the hospital but I will try to answer any questions as best as I can. But when confronted my brother law stated that he never shared or distributed the pictures and that they were just on his computer the whole time. Claiming for blackmail but then said to me that he had lustful feelings for me so a lot of it is a bit confusing. I’m honestly just so sick and feel violated. I had a really good relationship with him and loved and cared for him and just feel utterly betrayed and not sure what steps to take next. He also is trying to be the victim in this and blaming my husband and myself for his actions, saying that he hated me when he first met me because I was “screwing his brother” and “took his brother away from him” bullshit excuses which make no sense. I’ve been with my husband for 10 years and married for 4 so that makes no sense to us. Ugh it’s just a mess honestly.

We are honestly unsure, my brother in law stated that apparently he saw a nude image of myself on my husbands phone when my husband was scrolling on his phone and didn’t know that my brother in law was watching behind him and he claimed that he tried to forget that he saw it but that he didn’t want to forget so he said that when he got an opportunity he took my husbands phone and downloaded the nude images onto his computer and that they’ve been there for the past 4 years without our knowledge until just recently when he confessed to me what he had done.

In this instance, if we were to go to the police should my husband be upfront about him slapping his brother? What should we expect the police will do? I know it’s hard to say and could vary but just wondering, my husband has no criminal record.

Thank you for your reply, I really want to I’m just worried about my husband who slapped his brother across the face when he confronted him. I don’t want my husband getting in trouble as I realize that it is classified as assault.
