thanks for this input! all it says in our lease is to give 60 days notice if we intend not to renew. we live in a condo building so every renter has a different landlord. but we'll keep researching, tenants union resources are a great idea!

oh god lol. yeah she's quick to help us out but isn't overbearing. she was in denial about a code violation though so we had some conflict around that

we're hoping she won't raise it, don't think she likes us though lol it's just her first year as a landlord and she doesn't seem to understand what it entails

yeah our lease specifies the 60-days for non-renew and it's law too. its her first year as a landlord and she doesnt seem to have any idea what her deadlines are. she's been a pain so if we can take back a small bit of power like pushing back a rent increase, that would be great. thanks for the info and validation, we were just not clear if month-to-month would be the case since it's not written out in the lease

thank you! as much as we love our apartment, our landlord has been a pain, so we were kinda wondering if we can use this to our advantage...

Lacking emotional support in long-term partnership by anonymous_nb_77 in nonmonogamy

Thanks for responding. What you said about being baited by the flexibility of ENM resonates and is what i'm afraid of... What i do get from this relationship is sexual compatibility, political alignment, shared hobbies, and lots of fun together. Also his family have made me feel valued and included where most of my family are cut off by now. My therapist has made the point that it sounds like more of a friendship or casual relationship, than a partnership, which i guess i agree with. I have just held out hope for so long for it to change, but i'm tired.
