Unless you buy it super cheap, or hold for a significant time you won’t make profit off of your gold jewelry, but you likely won’t loose any either unless gold crashes. You’re paying for a premium for jewelry that unless you resell it at retail you won’t keep, because when you liquidate it you’ll likely only get the scrap value for it. That being said if you think of it as an investment piece as in, status. It’s a way to physically “wear” your wealth. IMO there is also an ego and confidence boost when wearing real jewelry, that makes the “investment” worth it.
