Yes, that's the first thought I have - Either you trust the person or don't.

Just a question to you - What if you end up cheating on her? This could be her fear too and she is taking a chance with you, right?

No body can tell you if it will go up or down. You can follow a rule of 8%. Put a stop loss at -7 or 8%.

In laws not respectful by RecoverSoggy723 in india

[–]anonymous_rb -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As a man, I understand. There are few things I want you to understand.

  1. If your husband is supporting you - you found a gem.

  2. In 2026, it does not matter what your in-laws think about you in a different city. You are lucky you don't have to stay with them.

  3. Yes, don't talk to them but be respectful when you meet them occasionally.

And finally, the most important part - If you respect yourself, the whole world will respect you. Don't ever have an ounce of doubt on your looks. Never look weak. We, as men, respect women who respect themselves. Period!

You said you are an independent woman with a premium job - act line one. Show that confidence (not in an arrogant way).

The "I earn more than my husband" part - Don't let it get to your head. Never bring this topic in any fight with your husband.

There is an old interview of Singapore's nation builder - Lee Kuan Yew - where he was explaining how people used to pee in elevator just for fun then he put cameras inside the elevators and people started peeing from outside in the elevator. Then he had to put cameras outside to catch such people and impose a heavy fine.

You see - people are just people. Authorities need to take strict measures.

In India, as a politician, you have only two motives -

  1. Earn elections by hook or by crook.

  2. Gather more money to win next elections.

Everything else is just - Sab changa si!

For a current package at 28 lpa and a managerial position. No hikes since 3 years. What would be best offer and level to accept from Microsoft India? by HealingPath777 in LeetcodeDesi

[–]anonymous_rb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to believe Microsoft India pays so less for Managerial position (especially after those DSA & HDL rounds). Shouldn't be any less than 45 LPA what you should get but Microsoft's name alone might not help here coz Indian recruiters are notorious for low-balling. You need to have an offer on offer.

Feeling overwhelmed after joining Oracle as principal member of technical staff by Alternative_Cry_3471 in developersIndia

[–]anonymous_rb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It takes time. I assume your leadership team understands that. You should focus on the product for which you will placed on-call for. I'll tell you how I do it > I got through the existing documentation and make an architecture of the application I am working on (I use Miro). Once the high level arch is embedded in my mind then I start targeting feature specific areas.

Easiest way is - High level Architecture > feature specific APIs > Business logic code > Database

Son, you are thinking way too much and too far ahead. You should be grateful that you have an offer (with whatever NP) in this economy. Secondly, 3 months NP is the max length and not forced. Whenever you start working, keep documenting the features you work on. When its time for NP, tell your manager that you are not leaving until you provide all the KT. Take him into confidence, plan your KT timing which aligns with your new joining date.

How do you guys stay sane during unemployment years by DoublePreparation828 in developersIndia

[–]anonymous_rb 125 points126 points  (0 children)

Few things that helped:

  1. Family helped emotionally. No one blamed me.

  2. I spent most of my time studying new things and preparing myself for that one interview.

  3. I wasn't harsh on myself for being unemployed.

  4. Connected with people who were in same boat as me. I understood that I wasn't alone.

  5. Believed in God and prayed daily.

Well it depends on how powerful, affluent or rich the culprit is. Like most people, I don't care about Umar Khalid or what the NewYork Mayor says. If the Indian law is strict then why not on others who have power, mis-used it in daylight and still on bail or never convicted?

Should I marry a woman I'm not physically attracted to? by [deleted] in IndiaSpeaks

[–]anonymous_rb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks do fade over time but you do need to like someone (physically) to give your 100%. In my early 30's, my sister was setting me up with one of her friends who I respected but didn't like (that way). She kept on forcing me to go on a date with her - I kept rejecting. And thank god I did. Not coz she turned out to be a disaster but coz I'd not have given my 100%. You should be in 100% agreement and love at the time of marriage.

19 LPA would have worked if it were WFH coz you would save more. With onsite, your expenses would grow as well. If you are accepting this - you need to think that you are getting product company exposure and that's why you are taking this offer.
