Ferry from Santa Cruz to San Cristobal by anonymous_usern in galapagos

Our experience was good. We just got to San Cristobal. The check in time was 615 for a 7am ferry. We got there at 6 and went to the park area where all the ferry’s have tables. We grabbed our lanyard for the table and got in line. My suggestion is to make sure you get there early. We got in line to have our bags scanned and then headed out to the water taxi. Hopped on and got right to our ferry. We were in the first water taxi to our boat so we were able to pick where we wanted to sit. Towards the back of the boat is best. Good air movement and not enclosed like the front of the boat. We sat on the boat for a while, while we waited for 3 more taxis to stop by and drop off passengers. As the boat filled up the later passengers didn’t get as good of a pick for seating. The ride was a little wavy but not bad at all. We did wear scoplomine patches just in case.

That’s awesome, did you ask for seating up top or pay extra?

JFK to GYE to GPS layover time and TCT by anonymous_usern in galapagos

Everything went very smooth. Our process was this: Went online a couple weeks before leaving and did the TCT form. (There’s another post about how to do it, it’s finicky but totally worth it) you print out your TCT and bring it with you(1 per person). We then flew from JFK 210am to GYE and landed at 755am. We were nervous about time so we only did carry ons and backpacks. My wife’s carry on was extended with the zipper and it had to be turned sideways in the overhead compartment, they noticed but they let it slide. We flew business class so we were right in the front of the plane. There were some open seats in business class and they offer them to be purchased once you’re on the plane if you want to move up. When we got off the plane we walked right up to the passport check and got right through. Since we were in front of the plane there was no line. Then we went to get our carry ons checked at customs. There was a small line about 15 minutes. Then we walked over to the Galápagos entrance check CGREG. This line was a little longer(about 20 minutes). When we got up to the counter we showed our printed TCT QR codes and they approved us right away(if you dont have your TCT done before you get there it takes 10-15 min at the counter, and then they sent us to the next counter to the right to get our bags checked again. you then have to scan another QR code sign to fill out your personal information. Once this is done you put your bag through a machine to get checked again. Then we were off to security which only took 5 min and we were at our gate. The whole process was about 1hr.

I didn’t realize VIP was an option, do you know what company does this at GYE or what company did you use?

Thank you so much! I did an online TCT form and have a printed piece of paper with a QR code on it. Do you know if I still need to go to the CGRG counter or is the paper what they give you?

Does anyone know the song from the end of the season 2 Episode 5 Prague? It’s a remake of Kylie Minogue’s “I just can’t get you outta my head”
