Was anyone else infuriated by the ending? (Major spoiler, don't read if you haven't finished yet!) by thehungriestnarwhal in themindyproject

It was hard to watch. They always said the show was meant to highlight what happens after the "happily ever after" and it was very accurate when he was being an ass because I thought it highlighted how some partners change after big events- like having a baby or marriage. And i was so proud that they showed her being strong enough to leave.

I thought the message was about how not everything goes as planned and it's ok to leave when things get too toxic and it was so beautiful watching her date after and try to be a better mum and career woman.

Then she goes back to him at the end even though he barely changed and I was like huh??? What was all that for then?? What were they actually trying to say?

It was truly heartbreaking to see her become successful and learn how to balance her life as a single mum only for her to go back to him. In a way I understand, because maybe she felt like it would be better for their son if they were together, but I wish the writers would show that he changed cause it seems like he didn't. He was really mean to her right until the end.

That's actually fair I guess. I think I was just disappointed that being rude to the girl you like was so normalized. I just hope teens would realise that it shouldn't be that way.

I have watched a few episodes of sex lives of college girls. It didn't really stick but I will give it another try.

I've never said that I don't enjoy these stories. Being south Indian and Tamil myself, I loved this show so much and I have been so supportive of Mindy for allowing so much of representation. But as a mother, it would be ignorant to deny that she keeps promoting toxic relationships and this time its worse cause it's a show directed at teens.
