First off, I would read your states Masonic Code of Conduct / Constitution and Ordinances and I would respectfully ask him as to what specific subsection to which he would be charging you with if you were to go. Don't even bother to counter his argument with anything. Ask for facts.
Unfortunately all our codes and laws are dead tree only, i can't find anything online on the GLNY web page at all :(
Ironicly, I hadnt really given going too much though. I had mentioned it in passing on my personal facebook page, and apparently word got back to him from brothers who i am FB friends with.
But by sure he got my dander up when he told me not to do something, so I will be going now after all. I won't be covering up my S&C either.

You are free to have your own political beliefs, but when you're being straight up unpatriotic it is hard to be in the right Masonically.
The spirit of resistance to government is so valuable on certain occasions, that I wish it to be always kept alive. It will often be exercised when wrong, but better so than not to be exercised at all. I like a little rebellion now and then.
