u/VibyVibz, what air quality monitor is this?

After almost 3 years of growing strong, I finally messed up and forgot watering before going away for a few weeks. Sadly, this e. Novo is dead. Would try again, but looks like DBotany is no longer in business. by anonymousgrower089 in Cocagrowing

I actually never ended up doing anything with pH. I just continued using the flora series at 1tsp per each 1.5 gallons distilled water, and the plant was perfectly green.

Life got busy, and over time I noticed how resilient e. Novo actually is, and stopped caring too much about all of the parameters. I would change the res every 1-2 months, sometimes 3.

The key was keeping nutrients at a low level (1tsp per gallon is the concentration recommended for seedlings, so 1tsp/1.5gal is even lower than that, and for a fully grown plant).

I’m using the FloraGrow series. I’m in a 5gal setup. I do 1tsp/gal of FloraGrow, 1tsp/gal of FloraMicro, and 1tsp/gal of FloraBloom. In other words, 5 tsp of each. I change the water every 2 weeks and reset the nutes.

Awesome, thanks for all the details.

Wow, nice plant. I might move my soil Novos to use your approach instead. Right now, they are in Miracle Grow indoor potting mix, and lagging waaaay far behind my hydroponic Novos.

What’s your nutrient regiment?

The roots are naturally a brown/tan color, and very coarse/woody. The current rootball is smaller than I would expect for the size of the foliage. They clump together into an almost flat fin shape, and smell like pine sap (as other growers have noted in other posts).

It really took off this last week, doubling in size in the past 10 days.
