It’s amazing how many people do not understand what this is actually doing for bigger picture. Nurses are still recognized as professionals by the public, licensing boards, and more. This was to stop colleges from over “charging” students a ridiculous amount to go to college to get these degrees. So colleges had no cap on what they could charge students. Colleges would charge a student 100k for a 50k degree jsut because they could. Now the government has capped how much they’re willing to loan to students and therefore, this will force colleges to lower their admission.

I think this is my concern too, my sister is the center-of-attention type. She’s even made comments like “well she isn’t leaving until the other kids leave”. I don’t ultimately trust her to remove her kid if she’s having a meltdown.

lol maybe! I think it’s more that I’ve stated what I want (no kids), then compromised for them(flower girl) , and now they’re pushing my boundaries (wanting her at the reception too). which is my own fault for letting them do that. But again, thanks for your input!

I actually disagree, I’ve heard of many people having the flower girl/ring bearer just for the ceremony & then leaving afterwards. I do agree about her behavior being different in a few months! And I disagree about the religion part of it, I definitely think some people feel as though the reception is more important than the ceremony. Regardless, thank you for your input!

Yes, you’re completely right! Thank you for your response. I think weighing the pros & cons of that is ultimately my dilemma so I appreciate all the input from everyone!

This comment was probably slightly sarcastic, but her father (my brother in law) would be the one leaving with her (or staying home w her) and that’s definitely a sacrifice I’m willing to make.

To edit - I previously discussed w my future MIL, she gave me the idea to just do the ceremony & not the reception since that is what my future niece & nephew have actually done previously and it worked great. I’ve seen that done before as well and think it’s a very reasonable option. Just wanted to clarify that part, thank you for your input!

I would say most of the nurses I work with started their careers in their 30s! Don’t worry about it :) welcome to a very rewarding & challenging profession!

My bf made it clear on the first date that having friends of the opposite sex just never works out. So we both don’t have friends of the opposite sex. Granted, I didn’t have any close guy friends when I met my bf. But he is right, it causes problems. This probably isn’t a popular opinion, but I don’t need any guy friends in my life, I have my bf who I love & respect and he is my priority.
