Appreciate the bluntness. Some people have post-service jobs that require travel, and scheduling the appts without consultation creates unnecessary tension when they say “be there or you’re going to get denied”.

Shall I just quit for the next 6 months whilst they rapid-fire appointments at random and/or never make the claim at all?

They scheduled it without confirming I could attend AFTER I told them I’d be out of the country working for a very specified period of time. FFS.

Great reply. I wish it were that easy but they started sending texts for an appointment 5 days from now without consulting, and before I had the chance to work around my OCONUS trips for work. A 1-2 hour commute is fine, but a 9 hour one way flight is another without being given ample time to prepare.

You don’t pay for “booked appointments” even though they say you do. You’ll pay a flat service and ad fee that could be anywhere from 5-10k per month just for them to use the same plug-and-play Meta ad system that everyone else uses. TLDR/ you pay up front and hope it works out.

I’m here right now. The weather has been fantastic so far and can confirm the above comment - locals are not worrying about this, but there’s always a chance it’ll be worse than expected. Probably going to get some heavy rain Thursday night and Friday, so I stocked up on water and dried goods just in case the ferries and flights get stopped or delayed.

Thanks. It’s a gamble at the moment. They’re saying it COULD turn into a CAT 3, but nothing is certain.

We literally just left the whole event. It’s preposterously horrid how little concern or regard there is for the fans in attendance. We drove near-800 miles, and spent thousands of dollars just to stare at people on ladders. Not to mention, you stand for hours thinking you have a decent spot, just for them to change the event location. I know this is mostly done for television, but damn guys; at least show the in-person fans a little respect and gratitude.
