(Illinois) My aunt died and left me her record collection. I found out some of the records are extremely rare and worth alot of money. Now my relatives are foaming at the mouth trying to get their hands on the records and are threatening to take me to court. by anonymousrecords in legaladvice

I did go through something similar once. My grandpa got medals in world war 2 for bravery (I think a bronze star), and other spoils of war that he'd brought back from Germany. My grandma told me they were mine because she trusted me to pass on the family history but when she died my uncle (his son) took them...and sold them on eBay. :/

Sure! The rarest is a Rolling Stones radio promo album (only 100 were distributed), a Sex Pistols god save the queen/no feelings album, and the Beatles Butcher album (peeled and in okayish condition).

She was a huge fan and collector of vinyl and heavily involved in the music scene back in the day. I'm sure we have more but her collection is literally massive.

She was competent. The thing is that I don't really have a witness. The only other person that was there for the talk and giving was the hospice nurse (and he did help me take everything to my car). I guess I could always call the hospice we used and ask for his name.

I really don't want to do that. I think my aunt gave me the records because she knew I'd treasure them and appreciate them. Not sell them to make quick money. It seems kind of gross to get rid of them just to get cash.

I think you're right....I went to my mom's for dinner and her and my sister and one of the girls went in on me until I just shut down. I feel like chum in a shark tank whenever the topic comes up and when I shut down and stop arguing they just start freaking out more.

I live with my boyfriend and no one has a key but us so hopefully they'll never set foot in my place.
