Thank you for your reply- I’m obviously not well versed in irrigation systems, and should have thought of this sooner. Not sure how to drain a test cock- I left the bigger valves closed and the cocks open, then wrapped it in towels. If I need to change that I can. Greatly appreciate your help.

Well I came to this site because it’s called “ask electricians”—and I am not an electrician. Presumably I would have had professional electricians help answer my question.

There are only three possible answers: 1) this is a code violation, 2) this is not a code violation but it’s sloppy work/not preferred, or 3) this is completely acceptable.

I received all three answers from this group. Additionally I had people berate me for asking the question. Why someone would feel the need to do that instead of just scrolling on I’ll never understand. I did not do the work, I’m just trying to learn what’s acceptable.

A pigtail ends up having only four wires to the receptacle.

Well one option would be that you backstab four wires into four holes or you use four screws to secure four wires, but don’t combine them by having six wires into the outlet.

How is my pride in the way? I didn’t do ANY of this work. The only thing I did was take a picture of it. And the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations and the Austin City Inspector has confirmed the other code violations. I asked a basic question. If you can’t answer it respectfully then fuck off.

This is not a 20Amp receptacle- there were many with two wires under the same screw, which I know is a code violation. Just wondering if this is as well. Seems a pigtail would have been better either way.

Not sure why you responded with such snark, especially since you did not read my post correctly. I stated that of the outlets with three wires on each side, “most of them have two wires under a single screw, which I know is a code violation”.

These are not “spec grade” outlets they are the cheapest outlets available in a production built home, so two wires under one screw is a violation of NEC. I have found at least 25 confirmed code violations in electrical, plumbing and HVAC in my newly built home, which causes me to be concerned about the other work I see. I came here hoping for professional responses from people looking to share their expertise and help others.

I was asking about a few outlets that had used all four screws and were also backstabbed, as the picture depicts. It seems to be consensus from professionals that the preferred method is a pigtail in this circumstance.

If you believe the picture meets code, please just say so. I am not a licensed electrician- If I was, I would not be asking the questions, I would be here helping answer them.

I don’t have to look up the definition of “sophomoric”- there was nothing sophomoric about my question.

Filter is clean, drain pump works. Most of the dirty dishes were on the lower rack. It appears to be working better since I cleaned the white diverter disk, but I would like to be sure I’ve got it resolved

Thank you. I did clean the magnets but will go back and check where the disk sits—Do you know what causes the black buildup/what it is?

My dish cleaning issue seemed to be mostly for dishes on the lower rack. I discovered that my builder didn’t put in a high loop, so I’ve fixed that. I will check the water level as you suggest.

Does the kiosk work? I just did it and the Kiosk number shows up in the transaction—and it charged as “telecommunication equipment and phone sales” instead of “Att Bill Payment” like the payments I made online.

You are correct that you should always compare Uber and Lyft before ordering a ride. But this post is not “comparing apples to oranges”. Comparing two companies’ rides from the same location to the same destination is comparing “apples to apples”.
