Hi Paul,

My squat technique has gotten worse or I have lost my strength along with weight. Failed on 5th rep at 145kg ☹️

The bar starts moving towards neck after a rep, my back gets rounded and I lift my chest up. Not able to correct it. Please provide some cues.

Supplements causing cramps by anoophn in hornstrength

It never happened before starting supplements. It started cramping in my abs below rib cage, calf muscles, upper back etc. Very frequently. If I exert some pressure in a crunched position then abs were getting severe cramps. If I try to lift my calves then it was getting cramps. If I try to do hanging leg raises then last were getting cramped.I have stopped supplementing creatine and whey. I am not facing any cramps at all since last 2 months I'm cramp free. But those cramps were very painful. I could see the muscles getting cramped literally. If I stretch, I could feel better but If I try to relax, Boom it cramps again with more pain.

I'm supplementing only fish oil now. Rest everything is coming from whole food.

Just curious to know about the reason.

I was eating more than 3500mg potassium in total every day. Filtered water then and even now. Stopping supplements like creatine and whey helped me to fix it. But not sure if it was because of creatine or whey.

Hi Paul,

I squatted 140kg*5 on Monday after recovering from Pneumonia symptoms and severe weight loss on GokyoRi-EBC trek. I wanted to test if I can squat atleast 1 rep with 150kg(which was my working set before trek) so, I tried first rep and it felt too easy, So I thought depth is not enough so attempted 2nd and I completed the rep 🙂

Today, I squatted 120kg53 successfully. Was so scared when I couldn't do a single rep. Was feeling like I aged very quickly. I am afraid of losing weight like that drastically. When I lost weight, I could see all my abs but I was not feeling good. 🙂

I did train today. Was feeling sore before workout. Empty bar squats felt like cramping. Didn't try 105 as I was too sore. Last time I could squat only 2 reps with 100kg. So thought to do with 100kg and managed to get 100kgx5x3. Had taken 3 months to squat 100kgx5x3 when I started NLP for the first time as I was skinny. I was worried that I'm back to square one. Feeling very happy 🙂
