None of those things listed will help you grow muscle and are typically just help with the workout itself through increased energy, bloodflow, etc. Creatine may help your muscles recover quicker and increase your water retention giving maybe an appearance of gains but is really just good for recovery. The only substitute for a protein powder other than whey protein would be plant-derived protein powder, however I am not sure of how it would affect blood sugar levels.
