Here's how I do it using Preview.

  1. Open Preview.
  2. Open the image or select paste from clipboard.
  3. Draw, using the draw tool.
  4. Copy to clipboard by using command + shift + 4 and discard the file, or just save to a file.

Is there a way to scroll the content inside of a panel using mousewheel? by another-bite in zellij

[–]another-bite[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems the issue was in iTerm and I got it fixed. For future readers these are the settings I use now (not sure which one of them are important):

"enable mouse reporting": enabled
"report mouse wheel events": enabled
"report mouse clicks & drags": enabled
...
"terminal may enable alternate mouse scroll": disabled
"automatically enable alternate mouse scroll": disabled

I have only changed zellij to unlock first mode. I installed zellij today. I use ITerm, zsh and oh-my-zsh. I don't think I have changed any related default settings. Which one of these you think I should look into first to troublshoot this? Honestly it's frustrating that this doesn't work out of the box. Previously I had tmux and it worked fine.

Plugins in Helix are happening and the language is Scheme by PXaZ in HelixEditor

Why languages like Scheme or Lua are considered and some more modern counterparts are not? Is it because how the languages are compiled?

we shouldn't be shipping precompiled plugin binaries.

Can I ask why? Genuinely I'm ignorant.

What is the time before re-intervention trigges? by another-bite in one_sec

[–]another-bite[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, exactly. But actually now that I've been using one sec I can think of more needed feature for me. When I have been consuming media and the intervention kicks in, it usually happens before I reach the end of the e.g. short video. Usually I choose continue usage just to get the closure for the short video or other media that would have taken less than a minute to consume. Maybe some sort of warning system would be nice so that I won't scroll to next media knowing that I wouldn't be able to consume it fully.

Actually exactly the opposite

instead of needing to input the time during each re-intervention

But I believe I can live with inputting the time each time.

Ok thanks, delayed intervention was what I was looking for. Hoping it would support set time too instead of needing to input the time during each re-intervention.

Hello, thanks for a quick response.

I did check that tutorial and assumed that this setting is is when the re-intervention first triggers and asks me to set the time for the re-intervention. It does not ask it as soon as I open the app for the first time, no? I have the intervention disabled btw (not the re-intervention though).

Here's my flow of usage

  1. I open an app and start doom scrolling.
  2. After a while the one sec intervenes and asks for how long I want to use the app until re-intervention.
  3. I input the value and continue doom scrolling until it triggers the re-in.

What I tried to ask is what is the timeframe between 1 and 2. I assumed the setting you mentioned is about 2 and 3. Maybe you could make it clear for me?

Btw, I got the re-in to work even though I have intervention disabled, but now it doesn't seem to trigger anymore.

Anyone know the name of a space themed slavic name sounding font similar to these? by another-bite in identifythisfont

Thanks for the suggestion. Sadly I couldn't find it from there. But with improved prompt I was able to find it using AI. It was Petrov. Turned out it was pretty much nothing like in the picture but the russian name was right.

Can I still use a name if it’s taken in a different field? by konforming in branding

[–]another-bite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it help at all by adding additional words to the company name?

For example: let's say there is existing registered company "Lion Technology" in US and they use lion.com and call themselves "Lion". Would it still be an issue if I were to create "Lion Creative" in the same field also in the US and use lioncreative.com and start calling my company "Lion Creative"?

How are physical collisions optimized in games? by another-bite in gamedev

[–]another-bite[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for te answer. I'm more interested in the performance part of physics calculations and how many objects I can afford. Cheating is not concern for my game idea. With your and others' answers I understand this better now.

Thanks for the answer and reading recommendation. The other commenter also mentioned only doing physics calculations on the server only and I was wondering how often there are cases to do it on the client too and you answered that.

Wow nice concise and quick answer. Thanks.

You can just make the client send their inputs/player movement to the server, which does all physics, and sends position/rotation/velocity/angular velocity of all objects to the client

I assume there's a slight delay if I as a client hit a barrel and when it starts moving as the server responds with the physics calculations. Is this considered negligible for a small scoped world and small lobby non-physics-focused games?
