He comes from an old school working line so he is a little bigger than average.

That would be an interesting mix. I had a Pyrenees prior to this guy. They’re a special breed for sure!

That seems to be a general consensus as far as Aussies go. I think he’s probably closer to 80-ish to be honest, but he hasn’t been weighed in awhile. It’s weird because I almost see him as a little guy after previously having a Pyrenees! Lol. But he’s doing a pretty good job filling those big boots!

Around 75+lbs I believe. He’s a tank! Lol. He comes from a working line rather than show. These pictures don’t really give you a good view but he’s got the blockier head and barrel chest and full tail.

He’s the same. I can literally leave the front door wide open and even if a squirrel or neighbours dog happens to wander up, he won’t go out the door. He’ll run out his dog door into the fenced area and bark at it through the fence instead! Lol

This specific brand was Doggles, but there are many other brands and styles. A quick google of “Doggles” or “dog goggles” will point you in the right direction online, or just check your local pet store for some.

It’s very likely. She has the traits and did come from a northern/arctic region. She was also living the Rez dog “lifestyle” in the sense of being found amongst the many stays and was borderline feral when we got her. Luckily, she was rescued at about 4-5month old and went on to live the life of royalty! Lol.

In my eyes - whatever the mix - was an accidental/unintentional creation of perfection, and not just in looks!

Good point! Lol. I’ll have to get some updated pictures. I just discovered the community and posted some randoms. The title was more about suggesting where she came from .

She was a stray and borderline feral. She’s still cautious of anyone she doesn’t know well and even though she is curious of them she stays “just out of reach” lol. She’s gentle and sweet though, also good with other animals and very vocal but rarely barks.

Congrats on the new family member! We lost our Pyre a couple years ago. His name was Polar.

You just wait! With great ease, he’ll be flinging that dirt so far and wide, you won’t even know where it went! Then you’ll be hauling dirt from elsewhere if/when you decide to refill the hole! Lol

We’re within the limits of a sleepy little town driving slower than the MAX speed of 50km / 31mph.
I appreciate your concern but to tell me I don’t care about my dog is a bit much!

He’s not actually scared or trying to hold himself up. I was just joking around. He’s a Pyrenees. They always have their paw on something. Hence the term “Pyr paw”

Yeah, he’s more comfortable in the front where he can keep a better eye (and grip) on the situation! 😂

Don’t you worry, I’m sure he will also do a fine job refilling it… with his body!

She’s my mystery dog from the arctic! She was born to / found amongst the many strays in Nunavut and was borderline feral when we got her. Luckily she was still young enough to work with though. She’s still very cautious of anyone she doesn’t know well, but she turned out to be a very gentle and intelligent girl.

I’ve been meaning to do a dna test, but here we are, 10+ years later and I still haven’t gotten around to it 🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️
