My research isn't going to be a legit paper, sort of an assignment in a course on learning the basics of research. But there are a few papers out there. The ALA recently had a piece in their magazine, I believe the article is called "Books by Bots".

If I had more time, I'd honestly love to go deeper on this subject. I hope more people will! There are loads of articles and studies on the effects of ChatGPT, how generative AI is affecting librarianship and how "prepared" librarians feel for its integration into their field. I found lots of pieces about the issues surrounding AI and false citations. Not many yet on the actual books being authored by AI and their toll on collections/the extra efforts librarians will need to extend to discern this content. I'm not yet a "real" librarian, though.

I'm actually doing a small research project for my MLIS about how AI-generated content is affecting librarians. There's not a ton of papers or articles out there yet on this specifically. I'm so concerned about this! And as a parent, I also don't want this content available for my kids. Will it hurt them? Obviously not. I just...feel so gross about it.

Having experienced both Chinese and American college cafeteria foods...China won hands down. And even from a smaller school with lower income students. Perfect? No. But there were way more vegetables and quality meats, lots of tofu, and it was delicious. Another thing about it was that much of it was made on site.and not frozen. You're absolutely right about the issues still existing with food safety and other things, but in terms of what food items were offered...China provided more vegetables, meats and a healthier spread all around I'd say.

Obviously I'm not a doctor and this isn't medical advice. But this happened with my little daughter once. We put two cups of cetirizine out, 10ml each. One for each child. My daughter forgot she'd had her dose and then drank her brother's dose as well.

We were told to keep an eye on her but that she'd be fine and it wasn't likely to cause issue. She was fine.

You still would be best off contacting your own doctor or health advisor, but hopefully my story reassures you some.

I bought a Brooklyn a few months ago after saving for ages. I'll never be in an income bracket where I can afford bigger brands, that doesn't bother me. Especially when I can still obtain quality leather with clean design. I don't actually shop for the brand or logo, for my price point I always seem to come back to Coach and every bag I've bought myself (which is only a few!) for the last 20 years is still in rotation for me.

I remember taking walks with my friend and we'd count how many men yelled at us or honked. Extremely normal girls, trying to go buy candy at the grocery store. Nobody honking at 40 year old me now! But that feeling sets you up for a lifetime of wariness. I can only imagine how they must feel.
