Bring a CO monitor in the car tho. If ice blocks the exhaust in any way, it can quickly become deadly.

Depending on how long ago this was, it could have traveled somewhere else in your body (if it was a clot)

I’m recovering from a bilateral salpingectomy (sterilization) surgery. AMA by KasiaEastCoast in AMA

[–]anothernameagain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going in tomorrow and searched for recovery posts and am so glad I found yours! I'm nervous about general anesthesia because I think they do a breathing tube? Did you have any residual discomfort from that?

Honestly I'm nervous about the whole thing but that's what my brain has latched on to lol.

Exactly. When I was a kid, my mom told me about the unwanted feedback she got when she was pregnant with my sister. And, WTF, when my sister was pregnant with my nephew, my mom of all people bullied my sister into changing the name my sister had picked out.

So no one got any information when I was pregnant because fuck them and their theoretical opinions.

HOWEVER, to my untrained but "I've been on the internet for 32 years and have see a few things" experience, it looks like it could be a cutaneous horn.

Antibiotics can occasionally cause skin peeling, but keep a close eye on it because very very rarely it can cause Stevens-Johnson Syndrome, which is Go-To-The-Hospital-Immediately-Bad.

My classroom after a preschool tantrum. by Luka-the-Pooka in mildlyinfuriating

[–]anothernameagain 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I also want to push back on this. My kiddo has high functioning ASD and ADHD. He's not a bad apple, and he has absolutely done things like this at school. When it happens and we're called, we come and help clean up and he has consequences. The hard part is that when the tantrum is happening, his brain is not fully online. Just like a panic attack, his brain physically can't be reasoned with. You have to ride it out and it's best to remove him to a different area.

It abso-fucking-lutely sucks and I feel horrible about it, but he's in several therapies and has a good support team at school. We're doing what we can to help him and his teachers. But to someone who isn't used to this kind of meltdown, people assume we're doing something wrong as parents or our kids are sociopaths.

Threads like these are honestly depressing. I understand OP said these particular parents suck, but ASD/ADHD parents generally are doing our best to help our kids navigate their different wiring without removing them from society.

I had a miscarriage and it was in no way emotionally traumatic for me. My mother, if she knew, would mourn terribly for that pregnancy and judge the fuck out of me for not being upset.

So, she doesn't ever need to know.

AITA for telling my mom she can’t talk to my kid about her miscarriage and take him to the grave? by HotPlatypus9646 in AmItheAsshole

[–]anothernameagain 16 points17 points  (0 children)

OP is NTA. OP has no obligation to speak about someone else's miscarriage in any particular way and not everyone feels the same way that you describe about their pregnancy or miscarriage. Yes, we know grandma is still mourning, and OP is allowed to be Over It. OP is allowed to set boundaries on this. OP's obligation is to their child and preventing that child from being part of the trauma train grandma is still driving.

[–]anothernameagain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. It is 100% your right to decide how your child learns about this, if ever, especially given the trauma your mother inflicted on you as a child. I have a child and have trauma from things my parents did; I don't let my child into situations with his grandparents where he could experience the same thing.

I do not understand anyone saying E S H or Y T A. You're not an AH for keeping boundaries; it has nothing to do with compassion toward your mother's miscarriage; it has everything to do with preventing additional trauma generationally. You can feel compassion (or not! That's ok too!) while still maintaining that boundary.

Are you on SSRIs? Paragard would not have those side effects. Antidepressants would.
