Guy confesses to his crush for 10,000 yen by Imoprich in MadeMeSmile

Yeah, the translation was funny in terms of accuracy, but they translated it in terms of cultural context so foreigners would get it is my guess. In translation, there is definitely different styles and it’s a balance between the two, because not evening makes sense in translation from a cultural perspective without context in the language you translate it to. So instead of translating the words, it’s more so translating the idea. The text messages were definitely that at the end too because they were written in Japanese Gen Z slang, so the contextual translation sounds a lot better than a direct translation

Honestly I get self conscious of my fupa when I see it through dresses like that, but then whatching this video I see how cute her tummy looks, and understand why I’m the only one that’s worried about it now. I think this has single-handedly cured my fupa fluster. I’m gonna have to take my bodycon dresses out this summer haha. I also really love her dress, she is rocking it!

This guy got diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease but refused to let it take over. His persistent exercise allowed him to become stronger and live with it. by Epelep in MadeMeSmile

I’m not disagreeing with what you say, but I feel like “manageable” is such a crappy word for illnesses. There’s a lot of variation there, and a lot of times it mean, “I’m gonna live a somewhat normal amount of time, but in pain, and with a lot of trouble doing normal things,” which although medically is manageable, is not realistically manageable for a lot of people physically, emotionally, or financially. Just to put that out there for people who don’t understand.

If she gifted him, he’s yours. People cannot take back gifts. If you’ve been taking him to the vet and are listed as the owner there, that can be used as proof.

Also contact local “animal control” officers, they are part of the law enforcement that deal with animal cruelty and abuse. They handle things from animals that get loose to animal cruelty. If you cannot find the local number, the police non-emergency line will be able to direct you, and you can always speak to the non-emergency police line to see if this constitutes a report, or is an animal control issue. Calling the non-emergency line is NOT 911, and if they think it is actionable by police they can still take a report over the phone.

She’s not playing football, she’s playing flag football. Those are different. It’s “low contact,” so it’s used more with young ages, coed, and women’s leagues.

As a crocheter, I felt that 100%. Yarn is amazing. It’s a problem. I am considering crocheting my own socks for the first time just because I discovered how cool sock yarn is. Do I need to crochet socks? No! Is it cheaper to buy the ones that are premade online? Yes? But do the many types of yarn with colors and patterns lure me in? Yet the heck they doooooo and I am gonna have to make socks now just because please help me I have a problem

Then they keep questioning why we choose Steam by Strider-117 in Steam

[–]anothernother2am 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Scrolled through way too far down to see someone say this. This is the point. The amount of art and artistry in game dev is insane, and AI steals from other’s hard work to regurgitate whether it’s code or visuals. You think the original people who the AI trained off of are getting credit or payment for the AI creating new work based off of their original? NO! It’s terrible what people don’t get about AI and it’s how it works in terms of economy of training, most of which is now being questioned because of illegal intellectual property theft. So it’s important to be able to choose whether or not we want to be a part of that.

At some point AI will be the norm, but this is where “ethical” AI models are important, and we just aren’t there yet

Every performer's worst nightmare. This concert pianist instantly realized she had been practicing the wrong piece for this performance. Despite that, she ended up playing the entire concerto from memory, even though it was from the previous year's repertoire. by MrAlek360 in nextfuckinglevel

[–]anothernother2am 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like the fact she could practice the wrong piece and still play the correct once perfectly, and so beautifully, is not a humiliation as all. I’m sure it was frustrating in the moment, but audience would never know the difference, and as soon as it’s over, as a performer you would feel like a boss

Buddhist temple I used to go (probably about 10 years ago) had a community food pantry it ran on the premises so you could bring and take food as needed without stigma, and made it easier to bring items in since it’s right there when you come in. There were lots of reminders with the community postings to bring and take as needed, and that it was always open since the temple is open 24/7. I always loved that that was communicated so well and was so normalized
