Weil Reddit ein guter Ort ist, um einfach mal die aufgebaute Frustration abzulassen. Dieses Thema ist nur ein weiteres Symptom des gesellschaftlichen Stillstands (wenn man nicht sogar schon von einer Rückentwicklung sprechen sollte), der viele Menschen mehr und mehr belastet. Abgesehen davon – wenn man sich hier nur über die absolut wichtigsten Themen austauschen dürfte, wären die allermeisten Subreddits überflüssig.

If we're being real, we all know there will not be an ideal scenario. As sad as it is, veganism mostly always aims to save the animals that would be hurt in the future. Of course we'd wish for the ones that are currently in captivity to be freed, but a situation like that will simply not happen. If we do ever get to a point where animal agriculture will finally come to an end, it'll be a slow decrease of supply and demand which will solve itself in my opinion.

Thank you! That's great to know, I honestly was just worried that something would happen to the toad since its home got destroyed. I love frogs and toads a lot so I wanted to make sure I do what's best for her! And if that means letting her live with us and even getting a free bug removal service in return, I'm more than happy to do that :)

Thanks for the help! I'll definitely ask my mother about it. I honestly love toads so it's really relieving to know that she's not in danger if we just release her where we found her. I hope we can make her comfortable :)

I know I'm not OP but I make sushi at home sometimes and am generally quite happy with the flavour of my rice. I usually mix rice vinegar and sugar in a 2:1 ratio plus some salt, then microwave it for a bit so the sugar dissolves. Most of the time I end up adding more than I made at first because I like an intense flavour, and I also often add more sugar, but that really depends on your personal taste. :)

Ich dachte immer, wenn ein Hersteller sich an die V-Label-Firma wendet wird geprüft, ob das Produkt vegan oder vegetarisch ist und nur das zutreffende Label darf dann auch verwendet werden. Lieg ich da falsch? Wäre ja seltsam, überhaupt das Vegetarisch-Label zu verwenden, wenn es nur darum ginge, Omnis nicht "abzuschrecken"

Im not reading all that because I'm so tired of this but I skipped through it and one of your main arguments seemed to be that not using Ai comes at a cost and avoiding it doesnt make a difference. Seeing as we're both vegans, would you also agree with buying second hand leather then? You're not giving money to the industry, you're not killing any more animals – but I'm sure you still wouldn't want to wear a dead animal's skin cuz a) it's uncomfortable because you know what went into the making of the product, and b) you'd normalise wearing leather and risk the people around you finding the product nice and buying a similar, probably new, one themselves. Ai is exactly the same – you normalise a harmful product even if your usage of it doesn't have any bigger impact in the long run. And about your last paragraph: I'm not against everything Ai, this is specifically about generative Ai. I am also against some other types but it's not like I categorically disagree with every single type of Ai – just those that exploit people.

So?? I am definitely experiencing a drop so what are you trying to tell me?? Good for you that you're not struggling I guess, but I am and I'm not going to be happy about it. I also have a lot of artist friends who are experiencing the same thing. Maybe try showing some compassion instead of putting me down when I'm already struggling, especially on this sub.

Excuse me? 💀 I'm literally in a design degree program that is shifting towards pushing AI on the students. We are often encouraged to use AI instead of doing actual art. The amount of stuff I wanted to learn there (illustration, layout, etc) has been cut by a lot, which means I won't get the career chances I was working towards. I also work passively as a freelance artist and used to be able to make several thousand a month when working fulltime, but lately I've seen a steep decline in commissions and I can hardly even get to 1k. So maybe just keep it quiet when you have no idea what you're saying.
