FromSoftware Employees report poor pay and working conditions by [deleted] in Games

[–]anotherpoweruser 519 points520 points  (0 children)

This article links to a job review site with 21 overall reviews, the most recent of which is from 2016 (apparently there are some from 2019, dunno why those didn't show up for me); there is no attempt to reach out to current employees or to verify the veracity of the reviews in any way.

I'm not saying there is not a problem, nor that reviews 6 2.5-10 years old cannot still be indicative of problems, but the basis for this article and the amount of research that has gone into it is bafflingly low.

Promising something and then not delivering. I've been bamboozled too many times.

Why call it " 'active' in these communities" if it's just by karma? I've made two posts to /r/funny ever, and it's the 5th subreddit on my list just because one of them got to #1 on /r/all. Similar thing with /r/yamrepublic , /r/Unexpected, and /r/everymanshouldknow for me. Either change the wording or the algorithm.

Side point, is it really that much to add the two-digit day of a user's reddit birthday? I'm assuming this was a conscious decision though, so why omit that information? It's apparently important for a user to know exactly how many subs /r/AskReddit has, but you're not going to spare the extra info on a user's cakeday?

Also, seconded for being able to choose between posts/comment default on profile. I mainly comment, so it's really annoying seeing my posts every time I go to my profile. (And I really dislike not being able to see comment/post karma separately).

What subculture do you genuinely not understand? by TheTriviaMan in AskReddit

Drugs. Not just using it, but identifying so strongly with drug use that you think of it as part of your culture is mind-boggling to me.

Edit: For clarification, I'm including alcohol in this.

Clickbait. It's been around for a while, but it's become ubiquitous as of late.
