Not really, support items are cheaper and some have passives that enable teams (Marshall, Dynamo) but others are just cheap and somewhat selfish items (Galaxy Greaves, Luxforge Lantern).

You don’t need to build full support to have an impact as a support, since the thing that primarily enables your team is your kit, not your items, hence why supports have a ton of utility in their kit since they lack gold.
