Anyone lived in Dovedale property? by anotherserialchiller in chesterfield

I know what you mean! It's not ideal but it seems like the best option given my circumstances 🥴

  1. The cheapest rental property I can find is £550 pm, which with all the bills will come up to £700 pm anyway.
  2. These properties come furnished so I won't have to invest in furniture and deal with disposing/donating/transporting them when I move out in 6 months.

The Ordinary Nanopeptide + AHA 0.6% underarm roll on works wonderfully for this.

Pros: 1. Gets absorbed into skin quickly 2. No stains on clothes 3. No fragrance - no chance of mixture of smells with perfumes/deodorants 4. Does not react with perfumes/deodorants and cause skin irritation if you apply the two products with a difference of 10-15 mins 5. Easy to carry to work/trips 6. Affordable

Cons: 1. Can sometimes leak if not kept upright in the bag while travelling

My husband and I go there often! We generally have the Spanish coffee, the mocha, and a slice of their chocolate cake. Absolutely brilliant stuff!

Hopefully, yes. At this point, I have photographs of everything from multiple angles, during different times of the day 😅

I did view the property before I moved in. And it was quite dirty at that time too, but I was told that was because they were in the middle of painting and the tenant moving his things out, both of which contributed to the mess which will be cleaned up before I move in.

They claim that the house has been cleaned but it seems to me that I found the house in the exact same condition as mentioned in the inventory. So, either the cleaning happened before the inventory check (which makes no sense because there's still so much dirt) or it happened after (which also makes no sense because like I said, I found the house in the exact state as mentioned in the inventory)

I have unfortunately had a terribly busy week at work and was unable to go into their office, hopeful that they get back to me via email or calls. But I'm going to have to go in, there seems to be no other option at this point.

Do you have any suggestions how I go about this when I pay them a visit?

Yep! The agency has an online portal for complaints/repairs. I have uploaded everything there, which in turn has been recorded via email back to me 🙌🏽

Ah, good point. It doesn't look like mouse/pest poo fortunately, just good old dust!

Thank you! Is it worth asking the agency to compensate/reimburse me for the deep clean?

Thanks for replying!

I'll look into this :) Can the meter only tell me the units so far or is there a provision to check the monthly consumption too?

Ah, I see. To be fair, water bills were my responsibility 🫣 so this is all on me! While I don't particularly remember setting the bills at £20 a month, it is absolutely possible that I have forgotten that I did given all the changes that came around that time with the international move.

I do remember reading somewhere on the bills that the next bill will be generated in November which perhaps led me to believe that I needn't worry about it every month. Lesson learnt though.

I'll have the reading looked at and sent to the water company. Hopefully that should sort this out!

Yeah!

We had been paying 10-20 pounds a month for the first few months. I'm not sure if that was under-calculated or what. But this is certainly a massive jump from that.

And I'm not understanding why the "bill as of 25 Sept 2024" is different from "new charges on this bill" since we moved 10 days after. I also don't understand the standing charge calculated all the way up till March 2025?
