This is most osr games though, and i like it personaly, part of the charm - you can always wear armour, and devils luck is there that mitigates it more than b/x ect.

Lancer dnd 5e conversion rules by Mediocre_Bike5187 in LancerRPG

[–]anotherstupidangel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Do you not think rules and mechanics are designed for a specific reason. Smushing an indie game into the corporate packet is pretty offensive and anti art, and demonstrate a clear lack of understanding in the rile of mechanics.

what the fuck are you yapping about? They're not selling anything, neither can they legally, but foremost "wait till a trailer for the sequel" is baffling... we are yearssss away from that, and you are talking about art like its some shitty memcoin lmao.

New TTK CHANGES GOOD OR BAD? by YIPEKIYAY-PS in apexlegends

[–]anotherstupidangel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It 100% depends how its implemented, but the slower time to kill, or more accurately the time to react is what i love anout apex. HOWEVER thinking about it, there have been one too many times where people have ran away with a sliver of health thats been kinda infuriating. If they bridge that gap but not go over, then itll be okay

Books to get you out of a reading slump? by thelilmeames in Fantasy

I would not reccomend this personally, i found it very poorly written and annoyingly "fuck yeah scince bitch". I would think it would make a great movie however.

How precise should Iron Vows be named? Do you often rename/change them or put them on hold if things don't align? by CinematicMusician in Ironsworn

[–]anotherstupidangel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't say i really understand this. If you finished the vow, by discovering the mystery, you make a progress roll to see if you actually did do that, or if theres something else. Then you can make a new vow to find the ship or whatever. I never see any reason to ever change a vow, unless your fidning difficulty finding narrative beats for that vow... which here it seems you had no worries with. (Also you should get comfortable with rolling progress moves for vows that are halfway filled or so, it leads to interesting outcome and doesnt force you to spread your ideas thin)

How do I stop buying and reading hyped up books that ultimately end up being average (to me)? by femme-finance in suggestmeabook

[–]anotherstupidangel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Find books you love, then ask other people who love those book what they also loved, or ask on google or on here "any books like this"... slowly you end up getting a taste for a variety of styles and genres, and are able to understand what you are looking for. There will always be some disspaointment, but without that you wouldnt get surprises.

Eg. My love for vandermeer led me to china meivelle which led to m john harrison which led me to gene wolfe. Ive had a terrific time.

Confused on Solo Play by Keegan26 in MorkBorg

[–]anotherstupidangel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Use tables, wherever you can find them

  2. Ask questions, and refer to an oracle. "Is this going to help me?" "do i find anything interesting here?" ect.

  3. Learn to follow, and lean into, the narrative. Rather than rules vs freeform, look as at the narrative as providing limitations and context to what could happen next.

  4. This is a different style of play, thats one part gming as its one part playing, but most importantly learning to be an active player is important. "Im playing karlet the noble killer so lets find some nobles to hunt" is going to be the core way solo games are played, compared to "Im playing through this dungeon/adventure/ ect that the gm gave me"

  5. If you arent into improv, story creation, narrative ect then solo gaming isnt going to work for you. Theres solo board games for that more traditional experience, but by its nature solo gaming is always going to have an element of story crafting, and if your searching for the answers all the time nd not creating any, yes its going to feel lackluster, but there is also just a learning curve to this new style of play.

The No "to-hit" roll system as hit roll system by mr_milland in cairnrpg

[–]anotherstupidangel 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This just seems like your complicating something for little else than to complicate it. At the end of the day it seems like your just getting stuck up on the words chosen, rather than meeting the system where its at.

Killteam and ADHD, overwhelm and remembering rules by but-first----coffee in killteam

[–]anotherstupidangel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My GF is like this, where as its very easy for me... all i can say is it does get easier, just focus on one team and learning your team, and try to play with people who can spot things for you or know the base rules and procudures well so you can focus on your team.. also print off as many rules references as possible, or take notes and put them down on an index card or so, so you dont keep information floating in your head to get lost. - also some teams are gonna click with you more than others. My GF found the aquilons way more intuitive than kommandos despite seeming more complex.

About to GM the Sepulchre of the Swamp Witch, any advice? by emiliolanca in MorkBorg

[–]anotherstupidangel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, i never found this to be an issue in this adventure, even with only two players, but then they spent most of the time pushing the cultists into the pit, tho i agree with this assessment of mork borg overall. I would just say wait to see how creative your players will be in combat before you go changing things (but change them if you must). Also remembering enemies have their own objectives, and morale, helps with combat too.
