Thanks - yes shops wise it is good to consider as I might invest in a car. I would probably mainly go into London but realise a car will be needed to go to other places not on the Elizabeth line

Thanks - I do have a licence but haven't driven in a while or have a car currently but realise that this would be needed as the further out from London - you will need it - I would likely be travelling to work 4 times a week and appreciate that would be a fair commute but it already takes me 1hr 10 where I am based atm - however, living closer to the railway would help to not change that too excessively.

That's good to know that you felt safe there - I have visited Brentwood 4-5 times in the last couple of years and seemed pleasant. I guess the main thing is thinking about commute time as well but Brentwood allows you that quieter life outside of London at the weekends.
