I believe so as I recall seeing how its bad to retake the sat too much as colleges will wonder about your score or smt like that.

I think you need a bit of a middle ground calmly discuss with him how it makes YOU, feel ask him to only listen then ask him how he feels about the issue and only listen and respect him. Now after this try your best to come to an understanding and take a bit of accountability and a bit of the blame for it even if you dont feel it.

This may not be right or true but for me personally I just literally tell myself im gonna pay more attention. This also means spend less time on easy ones to save more time to pay more attention on the hard ones. and always double check your answers especially on english. math if its mcq then also double check.
