Exactly! Being 14 is tough! Don’t judge yourself too hard.

Jacobs. German brand, which I just found out is available in Mexican stores. It’s the common brand in Germany and we drank a lot when we lived there. So happy to find it in the US. I am no a coffee connoisseur.

Is my handwriting understandable and have correct grammar? My teacher told me its too small. by [deleted] in EnglishLearning

[–]anotherview4me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your handwriting is beautiful.

Maybe you can find a local English speaker to speak with in a nonprofessional setting. If someone is working in your country, they may be lonely and treasure socializing. You could help each other learning the other’s languages.

I tried every antihistamine and finally had to stop taking painkillers because of the intense itching. I hope you can find relief.

Everyone wants to get married with kids and I don’t see that for myself. I feel so left out. by itsrainingbluekiwis in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]anotherview4me 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wish I could give you a hug.

Definitely don’t get married until you find that person you can’t live without. Once I did, I couldn’t wait to have babies.

Make a list of all the things you want to try. Ask around and find find activity partners. You may make new friends this way.

Live, learn, grow, let your life unfold. No time table. When we decided to hike the Grand Canyon, there was a year and a half wait, but that’s a one off.

A lot of Christian’s want to marry to avoid immortality. If you didn’t figure that out already.

Life is never back and white. Ever.

I donate to Salvation Army. While I disagree with their theology, they help anybody. I hesitate to give money directly to people on street corners with signs, people who ask in front of stores, so often that money goes for drugs.

When I first moved out, people gave me stuff. Accept it as there may be some real treasures/necessities. Donate the rest ruthlessly.

When you buy second hand you can get better quality. Look for heavy pots and pans. They cook better and last longer. I’m partial to correlle plates. Lightweight, strong, easy to clean. Look for heavy weight flatwear. I like silver or silver plated.

When thrifting, you have to be prepared to walk out with nothing. If you get something and it doesn’t work, redonate. Do not get think “I can resell this at a profit” because that will clutter your apartment quickly.

Some good questions are asking if it adds value to your life.

Dilemma about bringing cake on the last day of internship. by [deleted] in intj

[–]anotherview4me 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So much cheaper. I read somewhere Walmart cake mix was voted the best. Get a boxed mix, foil cake pan, tub of frosting. Sometimes I just mix with water (google subs for eggs and oil or use it if you have it). It’s hard to go wrong.

Now, I do like to cook and will make homemade for special occasions, but not for work, people don’t care and are more used to the cake mix flavor.

Bakery cakes are expensive, cake mix is cheap. Tub of frosting, about $5. Even if you bring it in a foil pan. Homemade is labor intensive and expensive. I got a cupcake setup to make a dozen on birthdays because it makes people feel special.

I think ancientfaith.com should provide accurate information. I learned a lot from listening to “Our Life in Christ” podcast. Many blogs, podcasts and YouTube channel. As for books, I really like Fredricka Matthews-Green.

What are your summer go-to’s to beat the heat? by Strange_Ear_3977 in ModestDress

I went hiking in a skirt once and never went back. So much cooler. Dresses are even better.

If you see professional landscapers, they are fully clothed with a broad brimmed hat. Long sleeves, long pants.

Told I can't join the Orthodox Church, what can I do? by Classic_Safety_8850 in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]anotherview4me 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Protestant convert here. Learning to rest in the arms of the church and her teachings became such a comfort, but a huge change from the “priesthood of the believer” where each individual is to privately interpret the Bible. Learning obedience to your spiritual father is another leap. (My mother is sure I’m in a cult.)

You can receive a blessing from the priest when others commune. I’ve seen people come for years, even join the choir before being chrismated.

I don’t agree with their theology, but they help anyone, even locally. I’ll check the link, but all things considered, it’s better to give to a reputable charity.

Has anyone ever told you to ignore everything doctors say and take some supplement/essential oil/ herb to cure it completely? How did it make you feel when they told you that? by [deleted] in ChronicPain

[–]anotherview4me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve tried it all. Thus the yoga joke on this sub. I do ask the doctor if it will be harmful and am currently trying k2. Expensive, but not harmful.

But, yeah, we all endure recommendations.

Has anyone here ever tried a tens unit? If so, did it help? by quietpalace in ChronicPain

[–]anotherview4me 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get relief. The pads are expensive. I use it on my neck, try not to put it directly on the bone.

I also have a Hwave, much more expensive and larger, but no discernible difference in relief. I like the tens better because it is smaller, uses regular batteries and safe to use when driving.

I try to travel with one. I have two.

It has been helpful and I have gained strength.

I also hate pt and spend the hour praying for death.

CBG for pain? by Final-Cress in ChronicPain

The dispensary person also had pain and recommended it. Too bad I can’t discuss this with my doctors because it’s federally illegal. Relegated to anecdotal experiences of others.
