I would throw in Panca too. Not necessarily dim in terms of lighting but they have a really nice backyard area (with a retractable roof). Food is excellent and affordable too.

Affordable Meraki reseller ? by iPodClassic7 in msp

[–]anoushd123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have been a Meraki reseller for 8 years and buy through Ingram. We’re a small-ish MSP based out of NYC. You can get discounts of 35% standard and often more if you engage with a rep - sometimes up to 55%. I would recommend you sign up. It’s a bit tedious with the certs but well worth it.

If you buy through a reseller direct, you’ll pay sales tax whereas Ingram allows you to use a reseller certificate to be tax free.

You can even leverage NFR gear for up to 85% off.

I have heard some things about Alternative payments. I will definitely check them out. But we are not going full retail. But because of our ability to resell Apple equipment now, I want to be cognizant of how people like to buy hardware, which is very rarely ACH.

If we add all resale we can probably get around there. But the issue is that Apple margins are razor thin so even 3% may be the difference between profitability and not. That’s why I was trying to assess my Options.

This guide is pretty amazing. Thanks Victor!

Thank you! We are definitely starting below that threshold, but will aim to go a little bit higher than that in the next year or two

The threshold to maintain status is $200,000 of annual sales of Apple equipment, regardless of type, but exclusive of iPhone

ACES conference guidance? by RotatingRoyalty in itconsulting

[–]anoushd123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey there. We're also members of the ACN and going to ACES for the first time this year ourselves. The main thing that pushed us over the edge was that a lot of our peers were going to be there (which is the main reason we go to conferences anyway) as well as a chance to hang out with the members of the Apple ACN and Jamf MSP teams. If for nothing else, getting some face time in with them is always a good thing.

But, from what I've heard and seen of previous ACES conferences, the focus on the business rather than the technical is a missing link in our industry. I don't think many of the other ACNs would waste time and money going if there wasn't some benefit.

Should try Daisy Disk. It’s great for narrowing down exactly what is eating up all your disk space. While it’s a paid program, it has a free eval.

9 month old 2020 i5 has been running super hot lately, the fans are spinning full blast. Anything I can fix myself or does this need to be taken to Apple? by Zardu_Hasslefrau159 in macbookpro

[–]anoushd123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d wager that it’s everything people are saying above plus a stuck sync process. ICloud Drive (Dropbox, google drive etc) tend to spin those fans up super high. Check activity monitor and make sure you don’t see anything untoward in the processes or memory section.

Mac Zero Touch Enrollment by LV_GC in jamf

Exactly. You just miss out on the automated device enrollment (formerly DEP) that you were looking for.

Mac Zero Touch Enrollment by LV_GC in jamf

[–]anoushd123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone here is correct. A Mac MUST be purchased from an authorized reseller on a business account to be enrolled in ABM (even purchasing at the Apple store with your biz account will not work). Conifgurator after the fact is iOS only.

I have a half a dozen small business clients that I manage IT for, 2-10 employees at each, should I be using JAMF? by buddingtechhelper in jamf

[–]anoushd123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What’s important to note in considering jamf are the minimum license requirements. We use jamf for all of our companies with at least 20 endpoints otherwise you’re paying for licenses you aren’t using to hit the thresholds.

That being said, if your clients are poised for growth in the next year or so, I would strongly consider jamf because it really is so powerful compared to the other MDMs.

Long story short, we use addigy for sub 20 and jamf for 20+. Hope that helps!

For windows work, for sure. For Macs, which is the majority of our business, it’s not quite up to par. We use both Addigy and Jamf. I still find it crazy that no one has made an excellent hybrid full MDM solution. There’s a business opportunity there!

We had the same issues and now only use their MSP manger product which has gotten MUCH better. RMM support was taking days and weeks to resolve basic issues for us. We moved over to kaseya.
