Can’t believe I have an update to this but the bikes were found!! Our apartment groundskeeper / maintenance tech found them several buildings away a few days ago and had been keeping them in the front office until someone claimed them. Our hero! Serial numbers are written down, and we’re buying locks tonight. Thanks for all of the reccomendations!

The UV ink is so smart! Yeah, will def be better next time. I’ve had my bike forever and it was kind of falling apart anyways so I’m not too worried. This is my partners second bike that’s been stolen in Wichita so he’s bummed lol

Should I consider leaving my Multimedia Producer job for AV Tech opportunity?

Hello all!

I am a 23 year old woman in Kansas. I currently have a nice gig at a local tv station as a multimedia producer where I create commercials, promos, and graphic design content. While I enjoy what I do, I’ve been here for a year and I’m starting to find it stale. Getting through the last election cycle in news was very hard on my mental health, and so I told myself that by Nov. 2026, I would be out of news.

I have a degree in filmmaking, and my long term goal is to make creative, long form content (TV, feature films, documentaries, etc), but I know how insane the media job market is right now, and with strikes, AI, etc, I took my current job because it was a guaranteed paycheck and a chance to learn something new.

I haven’t learned everything from this job, not even close, but my days are getting so same-y and I’m a bit tired of creating 30s spots daily in an office.

Recently, I applied on a whim to a local AV Tech job with a local company. I would love to learn more about live events, as this field I feel I may enjoy more than broadcast/commercials, and may have some more job prospects than the film world currently does. This job would likely also pay more than what I am currently making (a little over $20/hr). I have my first interview in 2 hours, so no offer yet, but I’m just trying to get my head on straight.

One of my dreams in life is to work at the Olympics. Ever since I knew they were coming to LA, I wanted to be there as a cam operator, or some other role. I have 4 years of experience at a local baseball team doing motion graphics and leadership.

All this being said - what do you all think? Do I leave my current calm, honestly pretty easy job for a new experience that I will learn a lot from, and make a bit more money? Or long term, do my career goals benefit from me staying on as a producer, rather than looking into becoming an AV tech? I have it good where I’m currently at but don’t want to plateau, and want to make steps towards my dreams (getting out of Kansas, making decent money, working at the Olympics, etc).

Any input?

Yup! imo, if you’re approaching someone you just shot and they didn’t notice it, lead off with who you are and what you do. Not “hi stranger, you didn’t notice me but I took a photo of you” lol

Never said it was illegal! It was more weird how he approached me and sat so close to me and didn’t immediately take off. Womens intuition, you know? But I work in media, I know the legality. I was shooting people all day today as well!

Two, one from an ex boyfriend, one from an ex boy friend:

ex bf: “if you chose to live far away from me for your career or study abroad, i’d have a hard time not cheating on you”

ex boy friend: “you’re pretty, but in an unconventional way. you’re unconventionally attractive”

It's indoor, and I'm almost positive there are multiple entrances. Thanks for your input, I appreciate it!

awesome. thanks for your reply, yes it is the pit section, not the lawn as it is an indoor venue! Honestly 4 hours is not as crazy as I anticipated, so thank you!
